In the CC and EL this season too.
It's something that has been going on for as long as I can remember. Wholesale changes against "lesser" opposition and we fuck up or have to bring the "big guns" off the bench.
This isn't an Ange specific problem as remember Redknapps side getting knocked out of the ropey league in the group stage.
That was a blessing though as the respite got us CL football the next season.

Tottenham supporters have urged Daniel Levy on social media not to appoint Edin Terzic as Ange Postecoglou’s potential successor.

Apart from optics, does it really matter if we were to lose to Tamworth in the 3rd round, or any top half PL team in the 4th round?
This ain't the Aussie farmer league, Ange ain't winning a fucking thing.
I think it matters a lot if we were dumped out by Tamworth as we haven't embarrassed ourselves enough to lose to them would be absolutely humiliating. I doubt we will win anything but at least go out to a decent team while Ange is still here and not to minnows and heap more shame on us .

Tamworth FC 15th in the national league table. 3 youngster plus some like reguilon and bergvall shouldnt have an issue beating them . Those 5 plus 6 senior players should get the job done no problem .
In theory, but we've seen this film before. We make wholesale changes, look dreadful then find ourselves 1-0 down and chasing a game frantically.

I'd rather just batter them for 45 minutes then let the kids play when we're 4-0 up.

Without fail every season turns into a transitional season.

I don’t think Ange helped himself by insinuating this season we could be title challengers.
I’m not sure if that was just pressure he was trying to put in the players and adding some self belief or if he really actually believed it himself.
Our players are not that bad , it’s the training, lack,of decent coaching, playing one system, everything frantic causing injuries. It’s down to the coaching staff .Is Ange a coach, he says he tells his coaches Wht he wants and lets them get on with it. No bugger gives instruction from the technical area, why the hell we have a technical area for Ange at our ground I cannot understand.

Maybe we need to lose to Tamworth to get Levy to put Ange out of our misery.

If you keep him for longer your essentially saying that it's the players and not the manager. You're digging yourself into a deeper hole. Eventually no manager will want to take over a team with such "terrible players". The team will be even harder to sell to a top manager. We've essentially settled at a permanently lower level.

Levy has to act swiftly. Either he invests the necessary money and find an Ange replacement, or he should sell it to a party with the means to do so. The worst thing is to do absolutely nothing. But maybe a complete and epic collapse is what it will take for Levy to realize that he doesn't know how to manage a football club at this level.

You don't fire a guy like Conte to replace him with an unknown who only made it in Scotland. No disrespect but Celtic is such a dominant team that anyone can win there.

Quite right. But one of those will never happen - Levy is never leaving and the club is never going to be sold to someone who cares and knows what they are doing. That is a vain hope. So what should we Spurs supporters be pushing for as a realistic way to improve results?

Either we press Levy to back the manager to the hilt, or we press Levy to sack the manager in the hope that if we go through enough of them eventually we may find a miracle worker. There are only those two choices.

For the first option, since we know Levy will never back a manager to the hilt - even the Ange era demonstrates this, he still won't buy Top 6 players, he's only buying youngsters hoping they turn out to be Top 6 players - this option is futile.

For the second, Levy seems to follow this one. He is turning and burning managers. He thought Ange might be a miracle worker, and worst of all seems to still believe he might be. But as fans, our only hope is that he sacks him so we can move on to the next throw of the dart.

If we just shamble on with more Ange and more mediocrity on the squad, we've basically accepted being the upmarket version of the Spammers and that's unacceptable.

Injuries are a feature of Ange's football. Not a bug. And this stems from how he has them train.

I’m just interested to know why you think youth players should be given this game?

I’m guessing you mean u23s?

If we lose due to the fact we have played say 3 youngsters with no first team experience will you be applauding Ange or saying we should have played a stronger team?

Happy to throw the FA cup in a season our league form is shite?

Be honest.
Gray looks good would love to see him in midfield. Bergval has looked good when he has come on. Now Moore is just about back he cannot be worse than Son. We have a clause by which we can bring Ashley Philips back in January so,let’s do so and send Dorrington on loan the other way.Theres ways we can utilise our younger players.

Interesting little tidbit from Ali G

There is also a more cynical view on loans in that if Postecoglou does not make it beyond the season-defining upcoming period with the two Carabao Cup semi-final legs against Liverpool and the final couple of Europa League games of this stage then loan players do not need to be kept on if there is a managerial change and they no longer fit.
