Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We need 3 or 4 players and fcuking quickly.

Whoever the manager, this squad is desperate for players who can get onto the pitch and offer something akin to a service.
We do need players in, but don't we have to get rid of players to bring in new ones? Richarliason says he's not going anywhere and nobody wanted Reguilon last window.

We've already brought in the young Korean lad. I guess they may loan out Lankshear. Not sure who else will go.

Vicario
Porro - Romero - VDV - LB
Bergvall - Bissouma - Madison
RW - Solanke - LW

Above is how we should be our first x11 next year, in my opinion. Think bergvall is going to make the 8 his spot with Gray rotating there.

Since this season is shot, we should be looking toward next season instead of optimizing for injuries right now. We need atleast 2 new wingers, brining in RKM on a loan/buy, makes sense and we can see if we want him. Think we need to find a new LB this January too
Romero unlikely to be at the club and Biss should be replaced with a more reliable DM - one that's good at breaking up play and ideally a decent progressive pass in the locker.

Bergvall has definitely shown improvement this season but still needs to be transitioned into the side - depending on the oppo we rotate with/re-position Deki imo.

Bit of chat atm around Dorgu being a LB target in Jan. Mbuemo (or potentially Semenyo) for the RW slot. RKM worth a loan punt too to play across the front 3 where needed.

Ultimately, we need to come to the party with wage offers to lure in the big fish.

Are we selling Kulusevski? Or isn't he good enough?

Though understandable, there seems to be a misconception that Patrick Dorgu is a defender.

While it's true that he originally played at left back, he has evolved into a winger. If you take a look at his stats he has played 12 out 17 Serie A matches at RW, LW or LM.

He can play at LB or RB - and does so from time to time - but he is no longer a defensive player.

Seems like the ideal Angeball defender :ange-arms:

No. We need a proper DM more than we need wingers.
Whilst I agree we could do with an upgrade at DCM, part of my feels you could play Rodri there and teams would still cut through us by exploiting the space left by our FBs with diagonal balls. Johnson and Werner are particularly bad at proactively protecting their flank. This is largely by design - it is how Ange wants to play.

I do think Gray will be phenomenal at DCM given his footballing IQ, and the fact he has played across RB, LB, RCB and LCB in this system and knows exactly where the gaps are at different times based on who is at FB and who is on the wing.

Dorgu is the one I really want and actually think we might be an upgrade on Udogie. At the very least we would have fantastic rotation / competition at LB. Teh fact he was a LB who has great offensiove tendencies makes him very suitable for our system.

We are slowly building an incredible defense, with not many pieces of the puzzle remaining...

Vicario (Kinsky)
Porro (Spence) Romero (Vuškovic) Van de Ven (TBD) Udogie (Dorgu?)
