Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

These players proved (what we already knew) on Sunday they have no fight in them or a desire to mix it. We get dragged into a relegation battle we won’t come out of it well.
It's the lack of fight and guts that is most worrying, if we get dragged into a relegation fight you need both in spades. Unbelievable how many aerial contests we either fail to compete in or lose miserably, I don't think I have ever witnessed a team so poor at them or at anything that resembles a 50 50 challenge.

My point is this: saying the the players are not executing the plan feels like casting too wide a net. It also overlooks the possibility that they are following his instructions—it’s just the plan itself that’s failing.
No problem with that analysis. I was responding to your suggestion that the younger players might feel aggrieved at his presser. Nothing he said or did in game supports that afaics

I said in the match thread. It’s because the press is so badly orchestrated it leaves players in the wrong place. Plus they’re lazy. Woolwich had 3 players around one of ours time and again while they were always in space. They get tight and are aggressive, we stand off.

The players aren’t great but he’s making them look worse. They won’t complain though because he’s letting them get away with being so lazy.
It's just so easy to press us, there's no one dropping deep to receive the ball because everyone is in the final third, when we don't need so much players there, the ball is a long way back to getting there, what's the fucking point? I don't know if this is the view of Ange on attacking footbal, just crowding the final third with players, without anyone to bring the ball there, make a cross, put a through ball, work a one -two, we simply don't have a midfield most of the time and the guy is leaving Maddison on the bench, he cleary thinks this shit will work, as if we were in the 50's were you played with 5 forwards.

The non selection of Maddison - again - is fucking baffling. Whatever people perceive his weaknesses, he is our most productive and creative (in midfield and forward areas) player but also really important when trying to play through pressure - he drops in, can twist and turn and usually makes the best passing decisions. He was on the pitch 45 fucking minutes less than Kulusevski (who played 45 as an 8 as well) and completed 5 more passes than him. Not that he did anything spunktastic but at least he didn't constantly spunk away the ball like Kulusevski did/does.

That Kulusevski is more useful that Johnson who's literally got one play in the playbook and it isn't likely to work very well Arse.

The half time subs were just a stupid overreaction and tactically daft. We were only one goal behind, we didn't have to go full twat. Just tweak it. Maddison on for Sarr and keep Bergval as the other 8, would have meant Bergval could do his running thing at the defence, not trying to break out of our defence, and we would have the ability to move the ball through both sides, with two lateral 8's comfortable receiving the ball and able to look forwards and join attacks too.

The next sub should have been Moore - someone that can dribble and take players on and turn them round for Son or Kulusevski. Then Rich for Solanke.

Putting Kukusevski back into midfield and Johnson on the right improved nothing creatively, left Bergval all on his own in midfield and opened the game right up for Woolwich on the counter.

Other shit that is really starting to annoy me is players just not busting their balls to get back into defensive shape, track runners etc when they lose the fucking ball in forward areas. And this is on them but also on Ange who has to coach this as his system exposes defensive transitions as it is.
He's obviously questioned - very articulately - Ange's methods, or such, and been knocked back because pof it.

Ange cutting off his nose to spite his face.

Too up in his feels all the time.

The saddest thing about our situation right now, is I felt nothing losing tonight. It's been pure apathy and it's been like that for months.

I know we are shit, and so when we win, like when we beat City, and I said it at the time, I couldn't properly celebrate it because I knew it was just a one off freak result. I think United away was the last game we won where I properly thought maybe I was wrong and something good could happen this season, as it was still early enough in the season. Winning games when you know you aren't a good side and won't achieve anything is the most hollow feeling. When Poch was here, I used to be so pumped for every game because I knew we had big things riding on it. Top 4, a title challenge, what amazing feelins. Under Ange I feel nothing. I feel nothing about losing to Woolwich tonight, just anger and sadness that Ange is still here.

It's honestly got to the point that I think it is actually best for the club if we get battered on Sunday 4 nil, so that Ange is 100% sacked, and we can move on and install an emergency manager.

It's desperate times, but this is the situation we are in. I have no idea who comes in. But I'd be moving heaven and earth for Iraola in the summer. In the meantime, we need to bring someone in to get enough points on the board to escape any relegation fears.

We simply canno continue with Ange. If people think VDV and Romero will sort us out they are deluded. Gray has been one of our best players, so replacing him isn't going to change our fortunes that much. The issues are everywhere else in the pitch and in the dugout.

Really, you just had to look at the actual way we played to know Ange is never going to make the grade.

Scum were still there for us to get something out of this.

They stink and were vulnerable on the break.

He just had no clue how to exploit that.

Kept kulu on stinking the place up (again).

When Moore can jink, steal a yard and put the ball across on either foot.

Guy just has no imagination.

Worse than no imagination I think that he just doesn’t care anymore as he’ll just carry on and get paid or he’ll get sacked and get a massive pay off

He probably realises that he’s been found out and isn’t capable of managing a club like ours

Either way he wins!

Only giving the manager Chris Davies last summer in terms of what you might call "top class" coaching, is an obscene decision that has done more damage than we probably know..

If it was the clubs decision to surround the manager with unproven coaches such as Jedinak and Mason etc.. Then that is amongst their most brazen and insulting instances of corner cutting..

And if it was the manager that said in his first interview with us that "nah, that''s all I need, That should be fine". Then that should've been the moment we said "Oh okay. You don't quite get what the level of Premier League football is. This interview is over"

Either way. That is unforgivable and is on Levy and Munn.

Can we take a step back a second and look at some of the batshit tactics on display today?

Here was our set up just before the second goal:

(Note, we are 1 minute to half time and somehow we're drawing away at the Emirates. Any novice manager knows, whatever you do now, do NOT concede. Do NOT hand them an easy goal. Just get to half time and then breathe. Anyway, here's how we set up):

So we have Djed Spence passing it into Bissouma, who doesn't have a supporting midfielder within 40 yards of him. The centre circle is completely empty. Porro for some reason is making a move up to the right wing (well, we know the reason; this is where Ange has told him to be). HUGE gap between the two centre backs, Archie not even in the picture.

Now, don't get me wrong, Bissouma loses the ball badly. But sometimes players lose the ball, and up to that point Bissouma had had a pretty good game. You can't plan your tactics assuming all your players will do everything 100% right on the pitch; you have to mitigate for the occasional error.

Anyway, what should be completely clear here is, if Bissouma loses the ball here, we are fucked. Woolwich have 6 players ready to pounce, and they are man-to-man on our CBs, who are completely exposed with no protection by Sarr or Bergvall; our right back nowhere to be seen, our 2 other central midfielders pushing up (having been clearly told to do so by the manager).

So, our set up is a joke. Porro should be 20 yards back, and Sarr should be on the centre spot, at the very least.

Beyond that, Spence probably shouldn't be passing to Bissouma there, and Bissouma certainly shouldn't be turning and dribbling with so little cover. I wonder who is telling them to try to dribble and intricate pass it out from here? Probably the same guy who's told Porro to ignore Leandro Trossard and Sarr and Bergvall to push up, don't you think? Because it's the exact same set up we have whenever we have possession. And it constantly leaves us exposed.

Anyway, here we are two seconds later:

How many times have we seen this? An opposition team bearing down on our poor exposed centre backs with no cover? Too many times this season to count.

Make no mistake; at this point we're already completely fucked. Yes Dragusin should have eventually closed down Trossard better, and Kinsky done better with the shot.

But that's not the reason why we concede here. We concede because
- 1) our absolutely BATSHIT set up leaves us completely exposed whenever we lose possession in this part of the pitch and
- 2) our manager has told our players they MUST pass it out the back even if we're a minute from half time and drawing at the Emirates.

I think sometimes we can get a bit wrapped up in the results side of things, in the Ange in/out argument. But here is cast iron evidence that this man is not coaching this team properly, that he doesn't have a good football instinct of what to get his guys to do on the pitch.

And then to shank our two DMs at half time, and play Bergvall as a solo 6 flanked by Maddison and Kulu was the icing on the cake. As if we needed FEWER defensive mids not more

So so utterly out of his depth tactically, not to mention emotionally or anything else. It should be beyond question now.

Nah, he's too proud for that.

He just doesn't have the tactical toolset others do.

No imagination, colour or tones to his craft.

Just one or two dry notes.

Jedinak was picked by Ange. They have known each other for more than 10 years.
