this really hammers home how important a competent manager really is. it should be a clear indication to levy that if iraola is the man you fucking pay the money to get him! a manager is far more important than any player! we paid 50m for johnson ffs! pay the money and get a proper manager in now!

Just listening to a gooner in Petit who has just said the same thing. I thought he was a dick but he seems to be balanced in his views. Said the manager needs to go for pretty much the same reasons as most of us. It’s all a mess and players don’t know what they are meant to be doing, he doesn’t know what the manager is trying to do. I don’t normally listen to ex pros, especially ones of other clubs, but he seemed genuine in his concerns.
Yes. Better than us - city, Liverpool, Woolwich and Chelsea. On pair with us Newcastle. Close to us but we are a bit better - Villa and United.
I was thinking the same last night. Just an experienced manager to come in and take the job who plays sensible football for 6 months. Loads would take it for a couple of million. Then we can reassess in the summer.

Almost literally, if he came into training today and said lads, forget all of that bollocks about inverted this and high that, we're going four four facking two, mid block, run around a bit... I reckon it would be much more successful with persisting with whatever it is he thinks he's got going on. The players look totally lost.

Arteta came up with another easy way to nullify us. Press the ball to our left side so our keeper/players have to play wide ball to Son.
And Son either does not jump for header, or is easilly dispossesed by defender (happened like 3 times just in first 25 minutes?)
And old tricks still worked as well. Once ahead due to set piece/buildup fuckup, sit deep and wait. We would not score 2nd even with additional 90 minutes.
At least ball movement on our half was improved in 2nd half due to Ange adjustements (mostly personal changes) - but then we were completely toothless in final 3rd.
Btw it was funny to see Deki and Son left forward during their corners. Both terribly slow these days. Not single counter was generated because of that.

I think he's a good fit, especially with the coaches we have employed already.
There wasn’t a counter attack because we never got the ball to them. That’s not Sonny or Deki’s fault.

I can't help but feel that our set up, the facilities and the people employed to work in them, is like purchasing a Michelin Star fancy restaurant, top notch kitchen, etc, and then hiring the Maccie's crew to run it.

We finished 5th last season on GD. Another chance to back the manager and push on in the summer transfer window. But did we? NOPE.

I think that initial bounce was mostly due to an injection of new players and youth last season. VdV, Udogie, Porro, Maddison, they all contributed heavily in that period. All have either suffered injuries or a serious loss of form ever since.

Where does that 90%+ come from? Last I read in the press was that over 50% still wanted him to stay. And even here only 48.8% definitely want him out, with the remainder either in or unsure.

But he doesn’t have the players to do it, so should react to this and do something else until he does.

Look, guys. I've already kind of used to the fact that Ange does not manage team during the game. Just sulks there with weird expression on his face on the sidelines. But today hit a new low for me.
I was watching the game and in first half I felt that - yea, possession-wise, Woolwich was dominating. But we were solid! We did not go pressing in their 3rd, and that was fine, cause we could contain them in our half. On other side we managed to counter them and created few really good chances. OK, we conceded one from the corner (that never should have been corner) and then got carved open when Bissouma lost the ball. But even at 1:2 at half time I was kind of hopeful. We were able to contain them in defense and stinged on the counter. First half time xG - 0,57 for them: 0,36 for us (info from Understat; in some other sources HT xG was even 0,38 to us and 0,33 for them).
Then, enter tactical mastermind of Ange ... took off our midfield (Bissouma and Sarr)... to bring on Madders and Johnson (?!?).
2nd half we were all over the place. Conceded many good chances and did not create anything ourselves. I saw not a single moment from 2nd half that would have made me believe we could get something from it.

He could not notice an acceptable playing spell when it hits him into face. And praised the half where Woolwich was clearly the better side. Is he actively trying to get sacked to talk such absolute bullshit?!?
