Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's Basque.

He also has nowhere close to the hype that Alonso has around him because he's nowhere near as good.
That can't really be quantified yet tbh, what Alonso has done with Leverkusen is certainly very impressive but the PL is a much more competitive league from top to bottom, Bournemouth are massively punching above their weight taking into account the size of their stadium, fanbase and transfer spend. If he gets them into Europe to me that is certainly close to on par with beating a bizarrely poorly managed Bayern team to the title when no other club was really serious about challenging them both. Don't get me wrong I think Alonso essentially has his pick of jobs whereas Iraola is probably dining more at that 4th-8th place table come summertime when clubs are looking at him, so they are certainly a bit apart in stature and reputation right now, but I don't think you can definitively say Alonso is a much better coach than Iraola.
Also I take your point on him being Basque but its not just as cut and dried as that, chances are that job will be there at some point in the back end of his career and he doesn't need to take it for the reputation boost, he's already got eyes on him for what he's doing with Bournemouth in the PL. At this stage in his career that would be a weird move IMO, not to mention there's every chance Valverde renews since he has them in the CL spots and won the Copa Del Rey last year.

I’d take Bob Holness at this stage.

Ange: “I don’t get it, these tactics worked against Dundee United”
Makes you wonder about all those Celtic fans that were coming in here waxing lyrical about how orgasm-inducing his attacking football was. I mean what difference is it Rodgers or Ange, they dominate every fucking game they play in regardless who is in charge, you get no credit for winning anything in Scotland with Celtic but you get fucking hounded if you don't win all the domestic pots on offer.

Amorim going from the Superliga to the Premier League and Man Utd is a massive step up, Utd we're not, also Utd have been after Amorim before they won the FA Cup.

Also he will get backed over there, they backed Ten Hag with £600m

I don't think we're as a big a draw that some fans think we are, certainly to other managers.
Regardless of where we finish this season we are a significant step up from Bournemouth. It would be like the managerial equivalent of when Leicester won the league (whilst Chavski had a disastrous season) and they still nabbed Kante from them the following season. Money and the prestige of the club are the most important factors.

Also in regards to Amorim they can't even properly back him because of FFP and they probably made him aware of this and he still joined. They are now banking on someone paying big for Rashford, Mainoo and Garnacho to bring anyone in.

On the Celtic forum, even quite a few on there had second thoughts about Ange, and one even said they'd rather keep Rodgers than take Ange back.
Think they are as divided as we were at one stage of Ange's tenure, although the difference in quality of leagues would have changed the fans perception of him.

I'm not saying he wouldn't come in the Summer, I'm questioning whether he would come now, apart from money there's 0 incentive of leaving his post now where he could finish the season with Bournemouth to come to a club in disarray with half a squad in the injury room.

Much better for him to wait and then assess until the end of the season.

I'd be instructing my agent to put the offer on hold until he finishes with Bournemouth, verbal agreement.

Anyone considered Sebastian Hoeness? Done a great job at Stuggart. And wouldn't be a total departure from possession based game, he's reasonably flexible with his structures (Could bring Angelo Stiller with him).
I would prefer Glasner if we're looking for a coach like that. Does a great job at Palace, kind of possession based, won Europa with Frankfurt. Doesn't mind a challenge as he left "his" club Ried to go to their biggest rivals that were one league below.them at that time.

Rodgers won back to back trebles and had an invincible season in his first two seasons at Celtic. It's really not the achievement it was made out to us to be when we hired him.
Rodgers is actually quite a good manager. It's a shame that he's bottled the title, and multiple top 4 finishes with Leicester. Either way, we would improve, considering the standards we are at now. I say shame, in the perspective of being a potential candidate.

Avram grant could win the treble at celtic.
