There we disagree. Going into this project Spurs goal was to be competitive among the top teams in the Premier League. Is that no longer the goal. Just let Spurs somehow win a trophy, any trophy, and we can forget everything else? That is not progress.
The goal according to to Ange was to be in a position to win trophies every year.

We need to win 1 to start with. Have to break the voodoo

6.4166667. So a top 7 team. 🤣🤣

Sort of besides the point though. We’re talking about how attractive a currently 15th team, that seems to have a complete crisis of leadership, is to a manager of a 7th or 11th placed club. Clubs who have a strategy for what they’re trying to achieve on the pitch.
But for a quarter of a century, we have been a top 6 side. Bar a couple of outlier seasons, we're more a top 5 team. In terms of not only league finishes but also wealthy fanbase ize etc etc .

We shouldn't accept being absolutely shite because some fans have a totally irrational hard on for a useless coach.

but asking the players if they love him is stupid as its clearly obvious that they do! just go and check the fan video from after the everton game, kulu and madders clearly love this bloke and dont want him to leave.

Fair point.

Above all else, we have learned this season that 90% of our squad is not good enough or a complete pussy, or made of dreams and whimsy.
We haven't learned that at all though.
What we've learned is that in some games they look shit and in others they look world class.
Yet the team always plays the same way.

What we've learned is that we shouldn't judge them until we've seen them in a different setting.

Our squad really doesn't have much less depth than Woolwich. Obviously you can't compare us to City.

We have a more than strong enough squad for being 15th to be an embarrassing level of performance from the manager, go have a look at the players fielded by some teams above us. The Everton team that were 3-0 up in a half against us (managed by david fuckin' moyes) had some absolutely abysmal footballers in it.

So out of the 19 senior outfield players in the squad how many are you personally happy with?

I’d say most people on here - reading comments - would get rid of 50% minimum.

And do you know who Max Robson is?

so if we sack him now who is your preferred caretaker coach to finish out this season?
It's not our job to be experts in that field, and we arent paid MILLIONS a year to keep tabs on every player and manager that is on the radar.

But OK

Benitez: not great fit in terms of style, but we've gone past the "nice to have" options. Things are now critical. Someone to make us hard to beat because right now Palace/Everton/Ipswich can beat us, and that makes us relegation candidates.

Potter - missed that one, he's been available for months. Him to the end of the season? I'd have bitten your hand off. Took a terrible Brighton team progressively upwards until they were playing top 4 form stuff.

Redknapp - would take us away from the danger zone, absolutely guaranteed

Thats off the top of my head without looking at any lists of availables. Clearly we're not going to get HR, because Levy can't stand what he sees as a wide boy spiv. But he'd do way better than this fraud

There are loads of coaches out there. Loads. We're a big club. Loads would say yes to the chance of impressing and getting the gig permanently.

At what point does it get SO critical for you that you to pull the trigger?

Shouldve been Palace. Then FFC. Then B'mouth. Then Liverpool. Then Wolves. Then Everton.

If we don't beat Leicester on Sunday? Is that bad enough for you?

Even Big Sam will be better than this. OK, not easy on the eye but we've gone past all that shit. Style is a luxury we can't afford. We need results and we need a defence. NOW.

Sorry Matt but in 1 maybe 2 games this year they have looked world class... in the rest they have looked different shades of shit... they need judging because a different manager is not going to get a better tune out of this lot and before you say it... I am well and truly Ange out,

Why would that matter in the context of being FIFTEENTH ???? I don't have to personally be happy with Bissouma to know he would be starting for a majority of sides in this league. So would Dragusin who I also don't rate. Even someone like Brennan Johnson, one of the most criticised players in the team, was considered the 'key' player for a team in our area of the table.

The question isn't whether the squad is good enough (it isn't) but instead is whether its good enough to not be where we are, which it very obviously is. I accept the context of injuries and it is a legitimate reason to underperform, just nowhere near to this extent. Having injuries doesn't justify the worst form in the entire league.

I don't rate a lot of players in this team (and do rate quite a few!!!) but fully believe they are being massively set up to fail by this coach. He can't cope with adversity and is tactically inept. A lot of them are being asked to do things they simply cannot do, and our defensive structure/coaching is non-existent.

When you are making Calvert-Lewin look like prime Henry because a Moyes led Everton can simply launch one long ball and there is a chasm where your backline should be, it isn't down to individual talent. Its down to shit coaching and fucking stubbornness.

I was being somewhat hyperbolic.
But the people who constantly berate the players for not being good enough for Ange can't seem to explain how, when it all clicks, suddenly are good enough.

If the players weren't good enough they'd never be good enough. They wouldn't have beaten Liverpool for instance. Only 2 teams have beaten them all season and the other one has themselves only lost a small amount of games.

There's a massive amount of hypocrisy there.

We should have sacked him in the summer at the latest. Many of us saw this season happening long before the end of last season.
