Player Destiny Udogie

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Destiny was already unpopular with most of the Ange Out crowd, they'll never forgive him for this.
The fact that this has come from the players side at all speaks volumes. So it's a live conversation and he would never admit it whilst the man was his current coach. I'm even more convinced Postecoglou is done. If this conversation is being had at player level it's being spoke about by reps, agents family board....owners

Been watching a bit of Ange era Celtic to see where we are going wrong. One very noticeable thing, although there’s a few, is that it was rare to see both fullbacks forward at once. Right back goes forward, centre backs shuffle to the right and the left back does too to make a three at the back. And vice versa. If a further def Dee goes forward too, the defensive midfielder drops back.

I don’t think Udogie, Porro or Bissouma have the maturity or discipline to do this. Everyone looks like they want to be striving forward and scoring. It’s a bit more school football than what he was doing up here. Having that discipline instilled in them would also hopefully lead to less sprint based injuries. Is Ange not demanding this? Training this? Or is he just not being listened to?

If they can’t follow a simple instruction such as one of you stay back they must be bloody stupid.

However, and I ask this with the requisite trepidation, is Ange stupid enough to fuck with his tactics and not tell them to do so?

I imagine it’s the players that are not doing what is asked.
Somehow the manager HAS to get the attention of the players and get them playing disciplined tactics. Based on what we've seen I have a really hard time believing any of our players save perhaps Bissouma is too rash or unintelligent to be able to play in at least a somewhat disciplined manner.

Yes, it is ever so slightly contrived to suggest:

- Ange has done better using slightly different tactics elsewhere
- Ergo his players must be letting him down.

He's the Head Coach ffs. He has to discipline players to follow tactics or else drop them.

Not contriving to suggest anything. Actually asked clearly if it’s Ange’s fault.

I just find it tough to believe that he would find the secret sauce to his tactics and just fuck it off. Such an important part of what he tries to achieve and he’s not bothered? Maybe. Just seems unlikely.

If he can't get the players to execute a specific tactic for whatever reason whereas a bunch of other managers- the vast majority of who we on this board consider to be subpar and unworthy to manage at this club- can, then maybe said fellow is just not really that great of a manager after all?

Sunk cost fallacy is really difficult for people to deal with, myself included. Very plain and simple statistics like points and table position can help people combat their inherently human sentimental tendencies.

You might well be right in your assessment of Celtic vs here. My point is that if you're right, it's still on Ange

Because the medical team are not picked by the manager. Any medical staff at football clubs will interviewed and employed like in any other walk of life. Do people think Ange has went in there and said I want these physios and doctors and the club have went with that ??
Imo we are seeing defenders drop like flies because they play in a system that makes them sprint 50 yards 25 times a game to try a prevent counters. It’s madness
