it's ridiculous.

Potter took over one a Brighton who survived because there were 3 crap clubs keeping them up. Stayed up by 2 pts. Potter first season were 7 pts clear and better GF and GA. After that set records for PL pts there. Last 12-15 matches or so they were on fire.

Southgate? Got 'Boro relegated and then failed to get back up. Fired by probbly the most loyal Chirman in the country (refused to fire Bryan Robson but got El Tel in beside him to keep them up).

Anyway it's academic now. Levy had loads of chances to get him in and I expect him to do well at Spam.

I feel like I've touched a nerve here. Are you Potters nan?

If he's so great a) why did he fail so hard at chelsea and b) why has he ended up at West Ham?

The way you're talking the guy can walk on fucking water.

Oh, new fresh article re: injuries dropped? At least thanks to that we won't be spammed anymore here with that old article from Celtic days.

Is it a big enough selection of games?
Well over 10 stretching between the seasons. I'm really not making this up. They went on a run immediately after I saw us winning 2-0 at their gaff.

They only ever had good things to say about him there. Had all his best players sold from underneath him and they still got decent results and played good stuff.

Obviously a massive ricket. He did poorly there no question. But:

- Check out the shit state that Tuchel left them in. Those results at the start of that season were terrible;
- he was told there was a long term plan (but then the owners bought even more players!);
- at a time when the squad couldn't fit in the dressing room (they had to build another one lol).

It would have taken a certain type of manager to make sense of that shit show. Probably someone with at least good CL experience.

Also - perhaps the greatest manager of his generation failed at Leeds. Clough.

Er no lol. I just like to look out for British managers seeing as how terrible they've been in the main. I was pro-Howe at B'mouth for the same reason.

why has he ended up at West Ham?
Fair question and I can't know the ins and outs. Maybe:

- Chavs were paying his salalry all this time and
- he wanted a break
- also to study before going back (he's pretty academic too ofc)
- it was the biggest PL thing likely to be in the offing for the next year or so
- we're bigger but Levy pos took umbrage at being turned down before (conjecture ofc)

Also Cloughie - btween Leeds and Forest went to....Brighton lol.

West Ham is a good way to guage if he really is the real deal tbh.
Swansea and Brighton are/were tiny. Chelsea probably too big of a leap.
West Ham aren't shy of spending money and seem to want to progress, so if he fails to do much there (top 8?) then maybe it is all bumph.

As I said (I thought) clearly - I was against him before AngeLOSS, but he'd now be a complete ray of sunshine by comparison.

Anyone who thinks we are going for Southgate next hasn't a clue. It'll be an attacking manager. They'll stick to the project and hope that Ange laid some good attacking foundations.

Moving to a totally defensive coach like Southgate would be clueless and show we have no direction and are just making it up as we go a long. I'd totally give up on Tottenham if we went for Southgate. I'd be left with no choice but to wash my hands of it all
And this would surprise you from Levy?? Who did we go for after Poch again?

We'll be scraping the barrel for a manager this summer. I'm not sure why so many people seem to think we're the amazing project that anyone would love to be part of. Remember Nuno.....what was he, 10th choice? We were a mockery in the media that summer, and we had a better squad/finished higher than we will this season.

Beggers can't be choosers, Levy will grab whoever he can get, regardless of tactical preferences. Then they'll get average players in to adapt the squad to the new system, and we'll be having this exact conversation again in 18 months time.

Recent history has shown that the only thing we excel in, is being clueless with no direction.

All I'm saying is that if we bring in Southgate then I just totally give up on this club ever becoming a success. For me that would be the final straw.

Fair enough if some of you have already hit this wall. I still had hopes and dreams although I appreciate they were always unrealistic. Southgate would be the nail in the coffin for me

Media have upped the ante on ange now they got rid of ten Haag. ( okay yes ange is probably doing a terrible job in his own) but
the media need a target.
The fact he ( southgate) has fuck all club management experience is ironic considering it’s a stick they use to beat ange with.

I’d rather Southgate to the loser we have. But yes. He’d be a very poor
Choice

I have a feeling Levy has Terzic or someone else already lined up for the summer.
He can also then say he has given the manager every chance to succeed (when in reality of course he hasn't as usual ) and the fans who don't want the merry go round to continue as it has might be appeased and think hes on our side.

He may have his hand forced if we don't win our next 2 games mind you. The only window for a sacking now to make any difference to our season is probably this Sunday should we fail to beat Leicester. After that we are flat out til the Villa game and the season will be over by then anyway.

Santini?

Quite

Levy may be betting on us still being in the PL at the end of the season. I can't see where we're going to get 16 pts to get us to 40pts. If we stay up in those circs it's because there are some teams that are sooooo bad that we aren't in the bottom 3.

As ever, Levy ready to sack off a season and cups to make his life easier.

“Sources familiar with the situation, who asked to remain anonymous to protect relationships, say that the medical staff had reservations about Micky Van de Ven’s readiness to play vs Chelsea. But nevertheless, he started the match. The club insist he was ready but the plan had only been to play him for around 60 minutes. Due to circumstances during the match, he ended up playing for 79 minutes.”
