Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Assuming he isn't sacked and we somehow get off the injury merry go round, what could be the excuses. My prediction:
- We haven't had the opportunity to embed the system within our returning player group. The off season will help us.
- Confidence within the group has taken a hit this season, there is a lot of external negativity that the players are having to deal with. I've always said if you have a problem then direct it at me.
- We need to manage the team and make sure we don't take any chances with the squad, Solanke was always coming off at 80 minutes. Being 1 goal down at Ipswich tonight was irrelevant.
You could be Ange’’s speechwriter. But you need to add a few concrete chat crap jokes and “mates”

No, the available players are rooted, completely buggered, fatigued. It’s pretty simple really.
That’s what he’s on about in pressers. Everyone twist the situation to suit their own narrative and agenda. But the facts are we have a large amount of injuries, and the “available” squad are running on fumes.
the fans are sick of fucking excuses. Even with our full squad the gaps are going to be there because of the way we play. Simple enough. Plus injuries are 80% down to Ange and the way we play.
You joined this forum when ange joined and will be gone when he is so dont be telling us what way we should be feeling and that we have agendas

He 'indirectly' sacked the medical department I would have guessed, for not recovering his players soon enough. So it shouldn't be reactionary to do the same to him. He has been given time IMO.. The last two Cup games should be his remaining remit and he lost both.
This 100%. Imagine Ange costing you your job, saying you are not good enough at your job.

Id be fucking livid looking at the shambles on the pitch every week

We've played 40 games this season. Romero and Van De Ven have been available for 8 games together. We won 5 of them. Since losing them as a pairing; we've won 4 in 14 in the Prem.

Ange's inability to react as a coach - or having to play a 22 year old with an 18 year old at CB?

What the hell is this? Everyone but the back 4 are in the middle of opposition's own half trying to press, including 3 CMs that somehow end up right next to each other. Impossible to tell where the defensive line is obviously, but for this to make any sense it has to be placed somewhere around the halfway line at least. Otherwise there must be a ridiculous amount of space between the front 6 and the back 4. We somewhat get an answer couple of seconds later;

Turns out defensive line is placed somewhere inside our own half, so there is indeed a ridiculous amount of space right in the middle of the pitch to run into. That's what Tielemans does. He ends up making this attempt;

17th minute of the match y'all, not 87th when all caution was understandably thrown to the wind chasing a match in desperate fashion. And anybody who watched the match yesterday knows this is not me blowing a cherrypicked freak accident out of proportion. Similar stuff kept happening again and again, that's how Kinsky ended up making all those saves.

If you think Romero-VdV coming back or a less congested schedule will fix these structural issues then go ahead. But don't expect many people to follow suit.
You could pick pretty much any game this season and its the same - the thing is if we are seeing this, then teams who spend all week preparing to play us also see this and then as they have a proper manager they work out how to exploit our frailties!

I’m sorry was it brand new information that we might play 69 games this season?

We played 41 last year and were equally shit.

Ange has only been able to field his top defence pairing about 20 odd times or whatever. He’s lost about half of them. So your argument doesn’t really hold much weight. He loses half his games regardless of personal. Because the tactics are shit.

Medical department needed to be gutted regardless of who our manager is.

But it's not reactionary if Ange gets fired now. Domestic cups are done and the league is a mess. He made a lot of the decisions that had an impact on where we are atm and he can't complain if he gets sacked for them.

What would be reactionary is if we go in a completely different direction altogether and get someone like Frank or Silva. Then you have the question of the decisions the new coach makes and the impact of those decisions.

If we do stick to the path they have decided to start on, the new coach will need to be willing to trust young players and play front-foot, aggressive pressing, and attacking football. The question is if they can find one who is able to control games in the way Ange hasn't been able to (IMO).

If that was a once off id say fair enough but its all game every game. I was derided by a certain individual when i mentioned i was an amateur coach. Told that i hadnt a clue what i was talking about at this level. That i was giving it the big one that i knew everything.
Even an amateur coach would not do whats shown above. Mental stuff.

That said individual hasnt been seen since yesterday. Will come back on in a day or 2 spouting nonsence
Before I start I've wanted Ange out since Ipswich but as an amateur coach you would know better than anyone that you can provide positions and structure to the players. But once they step on the pitch there is fuck all you can do other than shout and tell x to get back or y to hold. I guarantee (as an amateur coach) you have seen with your own eyes players in your team doing exactly what you have told them not to do... would that be fair? I would also wager, same players have done it to you more than once despite repeatedly telling them to stop fucking charging up field and keep an eye on their #11. Sunday, Amateur, Professional... we like to think there is a big difference but IQ is IQ and some of our players would struggle to fill out their address when ordering off Amazon.

Are you making an argument for Ange to go? Inability to react as a coach is clearly the answer here, he's had plenty of time to adjust, and hasn't. His results have been in freefall and getting worse every week.

Take a look at BJKs analysis above. They are following the ball around the pitch. Ange is coaching them to do that.

if we can't get Xavi then who would be your next pick?

Ive been Ange out since Nov 2023
if you have short term injuries I understand you stick to your style of play, but when its long term injuries to both CH's & your playmaker add in the CF, and your replacments CAN'T do the same stuff, SURELY you change maybe make your team hard to beat (5 in midfield) but no this guy still plays open ack door football, with players running about without (as it appears)any kind of direction

I totally agree with you it has happened. But thats Anges philosophy and system. He has said it. But it shouldnt happen for 18 months either. Youd work on it in training get them to adapt. Id be given the boot if i performed like that

Here are some games where we had Romero and VDV.

Wolves (h) 1-2
Newcastle (a) 4-0
Woolwich (h) 2-3
Chelsea (a) 2-0
Liverpool (a) 4-2
Leicester (a) 1-1
Woolwich (h) 0-1
Brighton (a) 3-2
Crystal Palace (a) 1-0

Others like Fulham 3-0 and Ipswich 1-2 Romero played. In a nutshell we've been shit for a year. It doesnt really matter who plays, the minimal tactics have been rumbled and its got progressively worse. Of course better players help a bit but its clearly the system thats the issue.
