Before I start I've wanted Ange out since Ipswich but as an amateur coach you would know better than anyone that you can provide positions and structure to the players. But once they step on the pitch there is fuck all you can do other than shout and tell x to get back or y to hold. I guarantee (as an amateur coach) you have seen with your own eyes players in your team doing exactly what you have told them not to do... would that be fair? I would also wager, same players have done it to you more than once despite repeatedly telling them to stop fucking charging up field and keep an eye on their #11. Sunday, Amateur, Professional... we like to think there is a big difference but IQ is IQ and some of our players would struggle to fill out their address when ordering off Amazon.
Porro seems to always leave so much space behind him, i've lost count of the amount of times he has done this , If I was manager I would have tried Reggie at LB and Spence at RB, however the fact that Porro still gets picked makes me think Ange wants him pressing up like a mad man leaving acres of space behind him for the centre backs to cover.

I think Bissouma is one of those players! Offers exactly nothing defensively/tactically, and are just thick.

We have a midfield that offers no protection at all for the back 4, if it is Ange's tactics, or down to the players, i don't know. But Biss needs to go either way.

Freezing players out given the circumstances is beyond crazy. Reggie limited but had passable loans at 2 clubs last season, not ideal but he could have played in a few games. Spence was on that list until he had no choice, Lankshear could have played more minutes. Ajayi scored a worldie from the bench and hasnt had 1 minute since.
any competent Coach would have rotated far better then Ange has. Ange has caused a lot of issues himself - Son looks fit to drop he needs a rest. Ajayi should have had more minutes

How much rotation did Conte do?

Have issues with Ange, his system, his gamble on recruiting young but just making bold statements like "any competent coach would have rotated better" isn't based on reality. Some coaches rotate more than others, competence doesn't really factor into it.

I was planning on going to the Man U game but fuck that if he’s still in charge for a 16.30 Sunday afternoon kick off. I have zero motivation to watch us line up tactically like that again whilst spending a load of money getting to the ground and back. They’ll probably be goals and Sky will love it but it will be more of the same shite.

The thing is, we don't have any fullbacks!

I would say all of Porro, Spence, Udogie, Reggie, they are all wingbacks. All looking good attacking, all of them looking awful defending.

They would have all been good in a 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 system.

But with a back 4 they don't really fit.

Yeah it's a tough one.

They don't have long to do it if they are going to make a change without sabotaging the new guy before he starts. So, it needs to be an unemployed one otherwise they will just fuck about negotiating the buyout from the club.

Terzic is out of work and coming from Dortmund you know he's used to the culture of trusting young players. I know he fell out with the Dortmund players over tactics at the end and it all went the same way as Poch did for us but that's the dice you probably have to roll if you are going to do it.

Terzic was criticized quite heavily of boring football before he left, if he was to come in would be quite interesting to see fan reaction to us being a tight team to beat but quite boring

Ange isn't being sacked anyway so guess it doesn't matter. I even have a feeling that Levy might keep him for a 3rd season, he really likes him

To be fair Conte had a far, far worse squad than Ange, we still had prime Son and Kane papering over the cracks big time.

Also Conte did rotate quite a bit, certainly more than Ange when he had a full squad available. A good example actually is the Southampton game where he lost his job, Kulu and Bentancur started that game on the bench in favour of Winks and Lucas, who were certainly bench players at the time. I think Conte's big meltdown really came as a reaction to the fact that he wasn't able to rotate properly to the extent a manager of a top four side should, whenever the first XI was weakened even slightly we looked an entirely different, much worse team. Conte still tried to rotate, though, he just took the bad results that came as a cost of it.

Was thinking about my previous post , can anyone think of any instances from a football perspective where Levy has shown an aptitude to learn from his mistakes . I’m not talking about law of averages eventually getting something right

He has had 35 years in the business and 25 years with us so the list should be very extensive . I’ll start us off

Not just me that’s struggling to come up with an example then

That's a nice excuse but rotation is rotation and if we hold Ange accountable for this squad construction then the same is true for Conte.

Honestly I remember the pure depression of how predictable his team selections were. Maybe he was right though because when he did finally rotate:

I remember reading that Conte hardly rotated at Inter either and he had a reputation for winning leagues when he was out fo Europe already, or not doing great in Europe because all the energy went on the league. He is very much a starting 11 tyoe of coach with very very minimal rotation around the edges. He has guys he trusts and that is who is playing 95% of the time.

Ange needs to be sacked NOW and Mason take over so Levy can start his methodical and thorough search for a replacement right away.

Levy had to undertake a 72 day search to find Nuno after sacking Jose and then another 72 days to find Ange after Conte.

Our manager position is going to be an even tougher sell to any decent manager now so I think a search is likely to take even longer this time - So Ange needs to go NOW so the official search can begin with Levy carefully compiling a list of candidates then putting out feelers to the agents/people of the potential hires.

Wait until the end the season to sack Ange and we get another 72 day or longer search - Not good … but on the plus side it will mean Levy saves on a new manager’s wage during the off-season …

Agree but still, if they are going to do it, he is one of the most feasible candidates. Maybe THE most feasible.

We are almost certainly missing Europe from the league, so if Levy does stick by Ange now, he'd need to win EL to keep his job. Levy hates missing out on Europe.

Really need players back, if only to have a clearer bearing on whether or not it’s the injuries that’s the main problem. I have my own doubts over the sustainability of Ange’s approach, especially in the Premiership and with our ownership, but the Ange In/Ange Out thing will drag on until we can see an extended run and results with a more healthy squad.
We already have plenty of evidence the injuries are not the problem.

This bullshit that Ange is peddling is little more than a very poor excuse for his own ineptitude and sadly people are buying it.

Maybe even the chairman is? Although my thoughts are the only reason he is still here comes down to finances.
