NOt really when you consider they had an entire weeks rest and we played on Thursday night.

You realise when we are playing Thursday - Sunday - Thursday - Sunday there is no time to do pretty much any tactical work - most of the time has to be put into recover of the players.

And i will caveat this for all the cunts on here that will try and twist this -

it is not a defense of Ange - just a defense of the application of common sense.

He’s 18 months in. Tactics should be engrained

But we know from players he’s coached that he doesn’t do tactics.

I have no doubt we can have dominant performances when we’ve had rest and the chance to prepare for 5 days

But that’s not the reality of success at this club. You want to compete in Europe you need ways to win even if you have had less rest and we struggled with that when we were fully fit in EL weeks.


Will we beat Ipswich with 7 days rest and prep? Most likely. Did we beat them with a full squad but on a Sunday after EL? Nope and we’d rotated heavily in Europe that week.

I've given up tbh. Seems clear to me that as long as we're relatively safe from relegation the club are just gonna wait till the end of the season when there are options.

My fear is that he will have some end of season bounce when nothing matters and will drag us to 8th or 9th, and that'll keep him his job as the justification will be "when we were fit we were 4th in the form table!" or some shit.

Players were complaining about running more in training the day before a game than they did in the actual game.

I think that also matches the knee injuries you see from the running load and pure KMs covered by Dragusin and Solanke since our injury crisis meant they had to play every game this season.

Wouldnt Richarlison in either managers injury list. Hed get injured waking up.
The injuries we are getting now are 85% soft tissue, strains, pulls etc. Add that into the 'normal' injuries like above solanke etc. its piling up constantly. That has to be due to what the players are being asked

We're out of the league cup and FA Cup, so we'll avoid any games against the Coventry's, Tamworths, Man City's of the world.
The knock out phase of the Ropey League will be against tougher opposition than Carrierbag FC and anta's Elfs.

He is very much a starting 11 tyoe of coach with very very minimal rotation around the edges. He has guys he trusts and that is who is playing 95% of the time.
