I agree we can definitely do a lot better with a new manager but we are nowhere near competing for the league with these players. Liverpool have 2/3 elite players we don't have any

Our ceiling with this group of players is probably 4th , that's what a very good manager with a bit of luck could realistically achieve

For the record, I am Ange out as I think we can do better, but any mug should be able to see that losing 12 first team, senior players for long periods Vicario, Romero, Davies, Van de Ven, Dragusin, Udogie, Odobert, Solanke, Johnson, Bentancur, Werner (cough), Richarlison, with Sunday/Thursday/Sunday schedule for 3 months is a massive, massive handicap and a significant contributing factor to our league position. We were 5th and just beat Man City 4-0 away (before they were shit) when Vicario joined Romero and VdV on the sidelines.

Would like a spine in team with leaders all the way from back, midfield and up top. Defence you need good communicators at back like we had with toby and jan who read each others danger. Then a shield in front of defence like the gooners had with petit and vieira. A talisman up top. Cardoso is a no brainer at 25m. Eze as well.
I'd like to see veliz do well. Been unlucky since he arrived.
Veliz is too slow to be good enough for the top flight. Also has a heavy first touch. Don't expect to see him in our colours again TBH.
My guess is he will request a transfer if not given opportunities between now and the end of the season and Ange stays, maybe a move to Germany or Holland. The club will want to see him given game time though, if he gets that and continues to impress he will get a new contract.

Yes, but to be fair, one of our title runs was against Chelscum newly managed by Conte who was in top form, unlike is they didn’t have any midweek European games and they added Kante to their squad who was a monster in midfield. Not that surprising we finished behind them.

I think back to our 1-0 loss to Woolwich at the beginning of the season. And our last 2-1 loss.
If you get yourself into the top range of quality, beat who you’re supposed to, and play smartly on the counter against your rivals, you can very much win the title that way.
Poch was damn close, and I think this team is potentially better that that one raw talent wise- especially at full health and with 1 or 2 adds this summer.
We don’t have a manager that can conceptualize how to do this right now because we don’t have a manager willing to change tactics.
We certainly need a destroyer and someone who can get around the pitch.
