I know Ange's utter fucking incompetence has fully confused people, but this stuff isn't hard, If you want to do it.

We could win something with the bulk of thd squad we have now under a competent coach and owners that want it. In fact you can tell how much Levy doesn’t care by the fact he could get fans off his back immediately.

Add international ready to win players to this squad, Zubammendi, Emerson, Oshimen, Rios, Tah, Lookman. This added to our youth makes us competitive but the wages are significantly more than Levy cares to do so. We are magic thinking Wonder kids and a complete bluffers will suffice. We are 14th and that won't change without proper leadership both on and off the pitch. Six elite players and a coach, that's it that's all.

FFS, they've won one trophy, you all talk as though they've done the treble or something. They are one game different to us so far - we have had several finals in the last 10 years, and lost them all (not to mention loads of semi-finals). Are you seriously saying that Newcastle are better-run than us, more ambitious than us, simply because they have won one cup final when we lost all of ours?

As the other poster quite rightly said earlier, there are plenty of reasons to beat up Levy / ENIC - Newcastle, and them winning a single cup final, is NOT one of them.

Winning consistently definitely is very hard, hence why hardly any clubs have done it in the last 20 years. If Newcastle have 2 more trophies in 2 years time then I'll happily accept they've been better managed to do so (from the top I mean, not just Steady Eddie). Winning the odd rare trophy needs a lot of luck, something we didn't get when we (to be fair) ballsed up our finals in recent years. Newcastle faced an unusually out-of-sorts Liverpool who on any other day would have battered them.
LOL. What a way to try to make yourself feel better. Keep at it, you'll need it.

Nothing dumb at all, they got it over the line, yes we have been to finals and achieved nothing.
Open your eyes and look at our players attitude, no demand from the top to achieve.
They go through the motions then leave, to fulfill their dream elsewhere, same with our young players, they will look to leave after the mess the club is in.
Ange is a joke of an appointment, the team should have been good enough to have won the league cup, but winning it WAS too hard for them.
Again, lots of deflection there (much of which I agree with), trying to wriggle away from what you said earlier - for me, you can't define clubs as 'ambituous' or 'not ambitious' on the basis of a single match (performance in a final being the difference between our trophy count and Newcastle's this century), but clearly for you, you can define on a single match. So be it.

I don't know what possessed me to open this thread again tbh, I should know by now the kind of people who frequent it. :/

What do you mean, make myself feel better? It's all fucking shit for us at the moment, I know that. But I also know that Newcastle winning a single cup final doesn't suddenly make them the greatest most successful team in the world. What's your point? :/
Well they won. Give them credit. They have done a good job and their trajectory is upwards.
Ours is not. You just look like a sad jealous whiner.

Yes they won, yes I give them credit for that, yes they have done a good job, and yes their trajectory does seem to be upwards (I say seem because they weren't as good last year as the year before...)

I'm simply pointing out that juxtoposing their 'ambition' and ours based on them winning a single cup final is stupid. I'm not disagreeing with anything you've said above about them or us - can't any of you people fucking read?

Wow mate , really are a strange one aren't you.

Yes lots of teams beat Liverpool over2 legs especially with an injury hit team. We have had many better chances of a trophy in the past even in Poch’s time. Ange was to blame for a League cup failure the previous year as he played a weakened team away to Fulham in a year where we had no European matches.

Of course they are better ran and more ambitious than us hahahahaha, is this a fucking joke?! They immediately wanted to spend loads of money, the only reason they haven’t is due to FFP constraints !! They’re not more ambitious due to winning a league cup, it’s loads of factors FFS.

It’s another team who were on a drought, changed ownership and within a few seasons ended the drought.

Yeah, the old it’s just bad luck eh..

Newcastle got to a final recently and followed it up by winning one. They played better in that final than we have in any of ours. Dominant. Deserved win. Proper midfield which bossed them and an exciting big signing who made a difference.

AMBITION VS PROFIT.

Yes I would love to have Isak in our team. Just looked up he cost £63m not a figure much different to Solanke.

There are so many things that really excite me about the possibility of a Qatari consortium buying the club

We would finally become a club that prioritised winning on the pitch.

Would stop getting dickslapped by our two biggest rivals every season.

We'd start to experience the joy those toon fans tasted the other day.

We'd start signing the calibre of player our ticket prices justify.

The immediate area around Tottenham would benefit in much the same way the area around the Etihad has prospered.

Rival fans would be absolutely shitting their pants.

Yet some fans would rather have another 25 years of ENIC exploiting the fans to promote their non football agenda, mugging us off as the rest of football laugh at us, and watch with smug satisfaction as the Qatari's plough their snozz into someone like West Ham United instead.

I doubt there's a single Geordie alive who would want to ditch their current owners and have Mike Ashley back instead.

Fuck my life . :ange-facepalm2:

Where have I said they are not more ambitious than us? I simply said that basing it on a single cup final is stupid. Is there no one on this thread who can fucking read? It's almost as though some of you have already decided you want to fight, and are just assuming that others say things they don't say so you can attack them. :/

Posters on here still standing up for Levy / ENIC 😂

They can't be real Spurs fans, surely
May I ask who you are referring to here JT? I certainly haven't said anything supportive of ENIC on here today, I've merely pointed out the limitations of Newcastle's achievements to date in an attempt to quell numerous posters on this thread wanking themselves off about how great Newcastle are. And I can't see much other discussion on this thread today. Are you man enough to elaborate?
