He made a comment last week which is pretty much opening the kimono to other clubs.

“I know what my responsibilities are and I am sure if the club decide to go in a different direction there are some outstanding candidates for it,” he said. “And you know what, maybe someone will think: ‘Ange Postecoglou is not a bad coach, maybe we’ll take a punt on him.’

Which all it says to me is whomever the potential replacement is, they aren't available until the summer window.
Even Tamworth would be thinking twice.

Why won't Levy put this poor bastard out of his misery? There must be a lower payout for being out of all cups or if he finishes out his second season. Why else Levy is putting us through this torture?

Ange out of his depth and been found out. It's almost cruel now that Levy is making him go out to face the fans/press every week in order to get his payout. After Conte, I wonder if Levy put a "you can't talk shite about the Board" clause in Ange's contract ... this is the poor bastard's first big job and he will never see this kind of money again - so he's not quitting. We're all going to have to suffer with the fraud for a while - I may just tune out to the league until next season - just follow us in Europa.

Think Levy also has to give him enough time to prove himself (for me I wanted Ange out Nov 2023)
Levy has sacked too many managers without giving them time (as other Managers would think),
So to get a Good new manager that manager needs to think he will get time,

Most people on here agreed at the start of the season that they would prefer than we make a decent run at the cups, rather than battling for 6th (4th if a miracle happens).

With the injuries it was clear we had to choose a path - focus on cups or focus on 6th.

We've gone all in on the cups. 1 semifinal and now into the quarters of Europa.

With any luck, the board would have seen the impact of the injury crisis this year, and assuming we qualify for Europe; will actually give Ange a full squad.

You’re actually insane.

I like that.

We could do great things together.

Not sexually. Don’t get too excited.

Dier already spilled the beans about Ange's training sessions/methods didn't he? He was trying to big Conte up by comparing him favourably to Ange in that regard, but reading between the lines it is clear that the latter barely does anything in the way of improving the players.

What we have been seeing on the pitch during nearly the entirety of his tenure only affirms what Dier broadly described, so I take his word for it. Half-pro members of his coaching staff most likely don't know any better. So players, barring a few simple gimmicks such as fullbacks clogging the midfield and low crosses, don't receive any -constructive- direction or feedback from the sidelines.

That's why, no matter who plays where, players look lost all the time. I can't get myself to be mad at them, because I pity them more than anything.
If Mason was "great head coach material", he has had his time to shine in this work environment. Clearly he isn't. Should go out to lower leagues and give it a shot next season.

I was sat quite close to him. During the 5-minute VAR fiasco several players came over to the touchline. Various coaches spoke to the players and tried to give them tactical pointers about the game. Postecoglou just stood there, totally uninterested, hands in pockets, feeling a bit cold.
After a while the players dispersed, the crowd was quiet and I shouted, "Well done Ange. Nice work there." He turned around and looked like he was just about to start screaming, but he thought better of it, turned back again and looked at the turf instead.

I don’t know if you’ve seen this but this is Ange being frustrated

Why are you lying to make a point?

Most people agreed that they would sacrifice league positions if it meant we WIN A CUP not "a decent cup run". You think people would prefer to reach a cup final (and lose it) above finishing in European spot?

It’s a troll I wouldn’t take it to seriously. Well, I’ve narrowed it down to a troll or a Brisbane based AI, either, or.

Of course, we all want to WIN the cup. But the point here was that many fans wanted the club to go full force for a trophy, instead of prioritizing finishing 4th above all else.

Firing Jose b4 the cup final was criminal; and clear indication that the board values $$$$ over trophies. Winning the Cup would likely have triggered an automatic renewal in Jose's contract - and it would have cost the club an extra 20m+ to fire him.

It's refreshing to have a coach openly say that he's not here to finish 4th. He's here to bring trophies to Spurs.

Ange has a very strange approach .

He allegedly does not spend time on the training ground leaving it to the coaches .Yet he does not take his own coaching team with him and will work with whoever is there at the time. This was an absolutely ridiculous approach to take right from day one . It makes zero sense to me and alarm bells should have been going off immediately, this begs one question.

Why did I back him for 18 months ?

I really have no idea , I really don’t
This tallies with my understanding of what goes on there too.

So, he gets the job, he tells his coaches he wants us to play high energy, front foot, attacking football and then he just sits back and lets everyone else do the work. Finally, I presume he chooses the matchday team.

Well I could have done that for half his salary ffs.

Astounding levels of arrogance from the Normal-Size Aussie Bastard - Get rid ASAP.

Haha both you and Ange peacocking after a turgid performance against the bottom team in the league. It was practically a pre season friendly.

With all his players back he’s further proving why he’s not fit for the job - there has been no improvement and Angeball (which was attractive at times) has long since gone.

Where on earth did you get your 9 for Bentancur yday btw?
