Ange should just say the truth. It's been a shit season and the team has gone backwards.

The fans aren't happy with him, and it wouldn't matter who was the manager after a season like this. It would be time for a change and he should say that's fair enough.

He should also say Spurs are still in an important competition. A competition he believes can be won. The players if nothing else should be trying to find something for personal pride.

Ange isn't the centre of the Spurs world. He's a passing note in its history. People shouldn't let their often rightful dislike of certain people involved with the club affect their love of the club.

Everyone has their very own personal reason as to why they love the club they support. Everything is a cycle of good and bad times. The good times will come again. I don't when I just know they will.

My hope is that it starts with the EL trophy.

I don't care who the manager is at this point. I just want to see the players stand up!

But across 25 years ownership I don't think there is many clubs who have had 12 managers not including interims and caretakers... I get that managers seem to be on a constant merry go round but we seem to be stuck in an ever decreasing circle of terrible candidates. I'm so dull to who our next manager is going to be as I know full well it will be the 5th or 6th option and be the 17th highest paid manager in the league... Glasner, Frank, Iraola, Silva... none of them excite me. All look ok with a team with little to no ambition other than PL survival... it appears we are now joining those clubs so maybe one of these four will be perfect for Levy... here is your objective. Please stay in the Premier League.

In the big 6 us and Chelsea are pretty similar in numbers.
United and Woolwich at the opposite end of the scale.

People need to be able to divide Ange the man from Ange the manager.

The points he's made in the last couple of press conferences are absolutely true, and something most of us have called out before, but people are ignoring that and using it as a stick to bash him with. He's actually sticking up for the club and calling out the media for bashing the club every week.

He's not the best manager in the world, and he will likely be gone in the summer (although if he wins the Europa he should be kept on IMO) - But he actually cares about the club and what people make of it.
naw he's just using us as a shield. he's bitching about his own treatment and just saying 'us' instead of 'i'. it's right out of angie's pathetic playbook. don't think for a minute he gives two shits about 'us'

Chelsea are an outlier... they replace managers whether they win the big trophies or not...

Well Ange is the 8th longest serving manager in the league currently.
And people want him sacked.

And I’d bet most of the time when we have sacked managers that’s what the majority of the fans wanted.

Unless you have a long serving successful manager it’s the industry standard.
Watford were burning through managers for a while.

What other clubs would you say are our peers?
Newcastle? Villa? Everton? West Ham? Just thinking of teams with high level of seasons in the PL.

Ange is probably gone and probably should have been gone a while back but I've now become agnostic towards managers. As you say, they come and go like ships in the night so best not to get to invested in one because likelihood is he'll be shown the door after a few bad results...

To answer your question... our peers are mid table dwellers... think Fulham (Silva nearly 4 seasons in charge) and Brentford (Frank nearly 7 seasons in charge)... Everton and West Ham are a bracket below, Newcastle and Villa are a bracket above us.

Peers I mean clubs with a low or non existent record of being outside the PL.

So I don’t see Fulham or Brentford as peers tbh. Brentford what 5 seasons in the PL? They are not a peer. More likely to be relegated within 5 seasons than being top 4.
Fulham?? Maybe 20 seasons?
Sure they will be closer to 50/50 time in and out the premier league.

We are 100% premier league.

Not sure I agree with your logic... number of seasons in the Premier League does not correlate to your peer group... on that basis Brentford's peer group would include Birmingham (7 seasons in PL inc. 4 on the spin), Burnley (9 seasons in PL inc. 6 on the spin), Charlton (8 seasons in PL inc. 7 on the spin). I doubt Brentford or for the matter fans of Birmingham, Burnley or Charlton would see one another as being in the same peer group... Southampton have had 25 seasons in the PL... not far off our 33 - are we peers? No. Woolwich 33 years in the PL - same as us... are we peers? No, we are light years behind them. I admit it can change quickly but for me, your peer group is linked to where you're at right now... the Prem League is divided into 6 groups:
The Perennial Challengers - Man City, Woolwich, Liverpool
The Top 5 Challengers - Villa, Newcastle, Chavs
The Mid Table Mediocrity - Forest (punching this season), Brighton, Brentford, Fulham, Bournemouth, Palace
The Poor - Man U, Spurs
The Piss Poor - Wolves, West Ham, Everton
The Shite - Ipswich, Leicester, Southampton

I think we are closer to the piss poor group than we are to the top 5 challengers group. Just my opinion though.

You say tomato and I say potato!!

I think our peer groups in this instance are just defined by the parameters we set!! :)

Romero has form for it.

Did it against Inter.

I've never liked him since then.

The players owe it to the Spurs supporters who pay their money this evening and turn up to give them something back for putting us through this bollocks all season.

I never want Spurs to lose.

I want Ange and Romero gone at the end of the season but I demand that they do their best for Spurs until they go.

This.

I 100% want Ange gone but he’s still in charge and we’re still in Europe.

We MUST give it everything. Simple as that.

It doesn't matter who the next manager is... his managerial longevity here at Spurs will be 18-24 months. So no point getting sucked into supporting a new manager who won't be here come year 3.
Jol - 3 years
Redknapp - 4 years
Poch - Into his 5th season and had 293 games in charge

If a Manager is working, he stays until he's not or has a meltdown.

It's a myth that managers are all gone in a year to 18 months.
Shit ones are.
Ones who throw their toys out are.
Ones that do a decent job stay longer.
Even this useless twat has lasted 2 seasons*

*subject to him seeing this season out as it appears to be
