Yep. Was an ST holder.

Nephew even ran out with Bale at a CL night back in the day.
Sank tens of thousands of £s into this club. As have many others on here.

But then my mum died January 2019. Most emotional CL run you can imagine in my family.

And then Covid hit.

Footballs never been the same for me since.
My mum died during covid. Cancer. Couldn't really get adequate treated because she didn't have covid. How ironic.
Needless to say, I wasn't keen to stand outside and clap for the NHS in that whole period.

I'm not sure what this fictional scenario is referring to, as we've never been 2nd in the league + gotten to CL semis. It was FA Cup semis in 2016/17.

Sorry, I was replying to the discussion on which clubs' season would be considered more "successful"

Woolwich - finishing 2nd, without a trophy; and semi CL.
Spurs - finishing 17th, winning Europa League.

At the end of the day, football is about winning trophies. There is no prize for 2nd.

Sorry to hear that. My dad died in 2013 and it took me up until about 2019 to get over it. Then the final happened and honestly it took me probably 4 years to get over that. Since that time I’ve had these weird thoughts that the grief from the death of my father passed into the sadness I had from losing that final. Probably weird right and just the passage of time, but I felt free from the death of my dad at the same point as that game in Madrid. Feels more than a coincidence, I don’t know, I’m no psychologist. Agree though, football has not been the same since that sweltering night in Madrid.

I’m tipping spurs to win by 4-0 or 4-1. Ange will be back at the helm for the next season. There is no way they will sack him. As long as the heat is on Ange it’s off Levy. If we get rid of some dead wood and get some top talent we’ll make top 4 next year. We’ll also have a decentt run in CL if we qualify. At least quarter finals . Main thing that needs to change is the reliance on Romero and Micky. Another year with them getting injured without decent backups and it’s all over.

I don't think that's true at all, people are already miffed that Levy hasn't taken action to relieve Ange of his duties on multiple occasions this season, if he were to leave him in place then those voices will just become louder and louder.

There's no scenario in which Ange cocking up more and more isn't ultimately seen as Levy's doing.

I assume the rest of your post is satire though, there's nothing at all to suggest we could threaten top 4 next season under Ange, or even make it through the league phase of CL.

I think Ange should win the EPL manager of the season. his introduction and contribution to THFC and the EPL has been invaluable. He has vision he has charisma he has distinct characteristic. He is the best and sod the rest.

Sorry to hear that. Tbh I was pleased my mum had died before it all happened.

I can’t think of anything worse than spending your last days being stuck in a care home or hospital bed unable to see family & friends.

I think I football was intrinsically part of our lives.
From my mum taking me to my own football as a kid to my first time at WHL as a family.

And I chose not to go to Madrid to soak up the final atmosphere. Instead to be with my dad and family in the room we watched all the away CL fixtures. Season started with my mum in the house with us. She died before the Knock out stages.

Felt like she had a hand in destiny for the QF and semi final with the luck we had.
A crazy superstitious feeling if we were all together as a family we couldn’t lose the final.

Then we got SISSOKO’D!! FFS.

Glad I didn’t go tbh. Would have been 10x more gutted and convinced I made my own bad luck!

I knew we’d fuck it up, I just didn’t expect it to be that early!

Well, nobody remembers the year they came 2nd and got knocked out in the Semis.

Everyone remembers a trophy.
1. The PL is your bread & butter

2. We'll sure remember that trophy...should we win it...but not for the right reasons. You're the only one that'll have the picture of Ange with the CL's ugly sister's trophy turned into a wallpaper for his basement shrine

If we win the EL we will remember that final as the best day of our lives as Spurs fans since the 91 FA Cup Final.

Maybe that’s uncomfortable for some because of their emotional state about the manager.

I’m a Spurs fan, not an Ange fan. I backed him as long as I could because this club always blames the coach and I like football on the rare occasions it works.

I’m done with him but that won’t change the way I feel about winning EL if we do.
