Just because they 'dominate' it doesn't mean they're playing Tika Taka.

There's a distinctive difference to how Flick plays and how quick they get the ball forward compared to how Pep played with Barcelona, no-one has played like that since Pep and he doesn't even play it anymore.

Flick is an incredibly direct coach , he was the same at Bayern - the reason his teams dominate matches because they normally win the ball high up and keep teams hemmed in - Ange preaches the same philosophy.

The difference between the styles is that Flick likes to keep one full back wide whilst the other one underlaps whilst Ange likes both his full backs to underlap but the principes are the same...both coaches like to use the half way line as an extra defender and use attacking with the ball as a way as defending, both like to engage a high press, both are direct and get the ball forward and take risks.

Flick is obviously a better and more experienced coach than Ange.

No I absolutely do. You're gagging to say it already.

It's nothing to do with diminishing it - it's accepting it for what it is. Most sensible people on here can admit its low in terms of quality but an awesome opportunity to win something.

You & others on the other hand want to big up the likes of Richy for heading it across vs Norwegian farmers, or Ange for achieving it. Ange can fuck off. It's a club victory if we manage it, not a him victory. He shouldn't even still fucking be here.

Still blithering on about Ange.

Spurs winning the EL would be our biggest trophy since the 80's. I'm absolutely pumped for it and really hope it happens. I'm not even sure I've ever seen you say you want us to win it. Every message is just you acting like it's beneath us because we got to the CL Final under Poch.

Credit where it's due and yesterday, the team selection surprised most if us, and I bet it surprised Bodo.

I thought the change at half-time also made sense to a large extent.

Johnson was ineffective in the second half and posed minimal threat, amd once Maddison succumbed changed was needed, with our options somewhat limited.

If all were fit and able next week, I still think we would start with a different line-up, but my preference would be solidity to begin with, then go for the jugular.

They will huff and puff but I think we cdn blow their Igloo down.

Yep, win it and I'm absolutely in tears. Mind you if we don't even get to the final I might also be in tears!

The managers, both now and then are transient. Important yes, but only for the moment.

This is about THFC.

Yaaaaaaaaaawnnnnnnnnnnn.

It isn't "beneath" us in the same way the league cup isn't "beneath us" but has still been won relatively recently by Swansea City and Wigan. Does that make sense to your feeble brain in any way at all?

We haven't won anything recently so anything is a big win for us, but that doesn't make anything really high quality competition by default. It's not hard to work it out.

Do you want us to win it?

Ok then. Stop acting like it wouldn't be a huge achievement for this club and especially this fanbase.

It would be a huge win, but achievement wise beating Alkmaar, Frankfurt, Bodo and the worst United in decades isn’t huge. Our worst team in years could do it.

Sorry if that upsets you. It’s factual. It won’t make the winning of something any less enjoyable to accept that the quality has been hilariously low.

Go on, admit it. It’ll make you feel good.

Winning the EL would be HUUUUGE, Massively, bigly HUGE.

I couldn't give a fuck who we beat on the way.

It would be huge symbolically and for getting the monkey off our back. It wouldn’t be huge practically because huge practical tasks require more than symbolism.

If you think defeating the teams we’ve defeated is a huge actual, practical achievement then I have nothing further to say to you as you’re chatting deluduwaffle.

It would be huge practically as we'd get CL football next season and an increased budget. Also it makes us more attractive to any potential new manager or player.

Its not some success. We are very close to our first major trophy in decades.

Ange came into this club and promised to shake the Spurs loser attitude and turn us into a trophy winning team. It seems most fans on this forum value top 4 above any trophy - and that has historically been our issue - Top 4 is the only ambition - get the TV Champs League money, but its not worth risking the investment required to try and win the thing.

YES. 17th is a disgrace. BUT, Ange has laid the foundations and shown LEVY and the board that this team IS CAPABLE. We can achieve success - but if you want it across multiple competitions, you need a proper squad.

Ange has shown the board - You can have a trophy; or you can have top 4. You can't have both if you expect u21's to be a major part of the squad.
Fully agree on Levy and the squad, but you really really need to wait until a trophy is won before parping on about Ange winning anything.

I mean in terms of quality of opponents beaten - obviously winning the EL would be big for the club.
Well it's a competition for teams who ended the season in the top part of mid table, or perhaps domestic cup winners that ended the season further down the league than the Europa League places.

It's been our best chance of a trophy all season because of the standard of the opposition. I'm still not confident we'd beat Manchester United if we meet them in the final. Our players could well let the pressure get to them, or United just keep fouling Maddison until he goes off injured and our attacking play is then significantly weakened.
