I'd say a percentage will be seriously pissed off if it happens and we won it under Ange. The agenda will be that it's 'only' a second rate comp, the teams in it are weak, and top 4 is the bigger priority.

Ange will go, and 6 months later they'll be calling for Levy's head because we've only won 1 trophy in 17 years....
I mean you don't have to imagine, I'm already reading comments by the usual idiots saying this.
The question you have to ask, is that what CONSTITUTES a 2nd rate competition...

The prize money on offer...?
The quality/level of teams in it...?
Or how HARD those teams are trying to win it??

You COULD argue that the LEAGUE CUP is harder to win due to the fact there are no NON League teams in the competition, therefore the level of quality is higher from the outset...

OR that the FA Cup is mire noteworthy, due to the fact that teams are trying that much harder to win it!

The '2nd rate comp' thing is perpetuated by people trying to make themselves feel better about a manager they don't like, nothing more.

You'd never guess that this club and this fanbase are trophy starved the way some people go on.

This.

The EL is by definition second rate. It is the second biggest European competition. The ECL is third rate.

It's not an insult - it is fact. It does not mean the competition is shit, or that it wouldn't matter if we won it, but if we're going to pretend Frankfurt, Bodo, this United side, Alkmaar are 'first rate' European teams, we're lying to ourselves. We watch the first rate ones in the CL - PSG, Barca, Liverpool etc.

I've just listened to this interview. It contains a large volume of utter bollocks, based on Postecoglou's underlying delusions about himself and his ability. One win and suddenly he's King of The High Road.

It's a big smokescreen. Postecoglou talks about culture and philosophy and it diverts attention away from the record. I'm so tired of hearing the word "culture" associated with Spurs. By inference it's used to criticize us as fans. We're no more negative than fans of any other team in a similar situation (under performing relative to resources) would be. There's no such thing as "Spursy", players don't turn into lesser versions of themselves when they come to Spurs, and the fans respond to events like fans anywhere would do. If he's buying into that nonsense and then trying to cast him as the white knight riding into to save us from it, then its one more good sign it's time for a more stable manager.

Yep he's full of shit inferring his problems are bigger than all the other clubs in the Premier league

Perfectly put, mate.

TBH, I think that's the view of 99.9% of the fan base now and no, I'm not one of the 0.1%.

It's been the shittiest season in living memory, but we actually have a reasonable chance of having something special to celebrate. We pretty much all think we need to part ways regardless, but that really needs to be suspended for now and addressed after we see whether we manage to win it or not. If we do, thanks for the memory AP and good luck in your next role.

Whatever happens though, he's done here. A European trophy is a wonderful bonus, but that's all it is really. The league is the metric that you measure success in, and he's been an abject failure this season, we've regressed badly. I simply cannot see any way in which the board can look at what he's done here and see a light at the end of the tunnel under his management.

IMO he's gone regardless of whether we win it or not.
The people suggesting if we win EL that we see how he gets on first few games next sesson. Idiotic.
That would mean a summer wasted buying players for ange. Who could we get in new season.? A near full season under mason. No thanks. Get rid as soon as EL done
