Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don’t disagree, a trophy isn’t going to make Ange the right man for the job, but if the options are between winning a major European trophy and going through another bottom half league season or losing the final, getting a new manager in and having improved results next season, I’m choosing the trophy every single time.

A new manager ain’t getting us a league title in their first year and barring that, European glory tomorrow night trumps all other league positions in my view.
For us right now, yes. I agree. But next season - IF we win tomorrow night - I'd rather (say) come top 5 and win nothing, than come 17th getting pumped left right and chelsea all season and win the EL again. Though I think it would be about 50/50 that Ange would take us down given another full season. Think the bottom three might not be quite as shite next seasons - they usually aren't.

I'm the same, and I've wanted him sacked for over a year now.

He's made being a Spurs fan miserable. Utterly miserable.

However if we win tomorrow, I couldn't give a fuck if he stays (he won't). Because if he starts next season here, unless he starts the season by winning 6 straight games in the league, he'd be under immense pressure and he'll be sacked.

Just imagine he starts next season, after finishing 17th this season, and it's LLL or LDL or even LWL. If there's more than one or two losses in his first 6 games, he'll be sacked.

It's all pointless anyway because he's 100% getting sacked in a week or two.
I think levy has taken a big gamble keeping him on and not binning him back in November or any other numerous times. Therefore I don’t think will do another gamble and keep him here for transfer window, pre season and first few games of next season for it to all blow up. Best to cut the chord now and prepare properly with a new manger.

The very best scenario tomorrow and for all concerned from a Spurs standpoint is that we win.

Then Postecoglou leaves. I don't care on what basis.

He isn't a clown but it's been a fcuking joke watching/following this team this season.

If the question is whether the message has been received then the results in the PL provide an emphatic answer.

Don't worry 35pts is usually enough
Question is could Ange deliver
Don't forget we're in CL next season
Might be touch and go
Or we could sack the Cunt and bring in a competent coach be competitive again and enjoy the season
Just a thought

He's clearly already been told he won't be here next year from the last few questions of that presser, so I don't really know why there's debate still going on about it on here when we're 24 hours away from potential history.

Glad he stuck it to that prick on the way out, to call someone a 'clown' in a professional context is ridiculous - especially when 'hero to zero' is such a more obvious phrase to use and way less offensive. Also to phrase it so crudely in an article, then try and schmooze him by putting it to him softly is scummy, at least have the balls to back it up.

But fuck all that, we've got a trophy to win, COYS.

Good for Ange on his presser. And when/if we win tomorrow I hope we tells them all to fuck off .

And I hope our next manager has enough of a spine to call out some of the slimeballs in the press next season also when they write garbage

Absolutely ; he knows he’s toast ; yet showed his cojones / pride as in for the Club and therefore for hîmself.

It’s only about tomorrow night and he feels aggrieved ; that’s a good combo IMHO .

He REALLY REALLY wants this .

That’s very very GOOD for us .

Let’s mash these Mancs .

It's the clickbait title that's the problem. Nothing in the article is wrong.
True. Did the journalist write the headline? Maybe not, usually it’s a copy editor but the piece itself is fine.

Either way he’s just constantly bickering with journalists which you can do from a position of strength but when you’ve just finished 4th from bottom and set a record for losing games, just keep your fucking head down and focus on the final. Now he’s made the whole media narrative about him.

It’s pointless agitation.

Foolish to do anything other than show full support currently

This has been my position since Frankfurt. Unfortunately, it appears fans are still bickering and infighting and trying to get the manager sacked rather than attempting to enjoy a rare final opportunity. As much as I respect the right to express a dissenting opinion, which I will also have at certain points of the season, I also am starting to buy into the idea that our fanbase is purely toxic and actively sabotages us to lose, and I previously did not buy into that idea.

Is that the fan base in general or the vocal ones online?

It’s been like this for years on these boards. In any of the previous manager threads, you’ll see fans calling for the manager to be sacked within their first season, and from there, the toxicity just spirals.

I think he’s a clown no matter what!

Shittest manager in my lifetime. 17th in the league and the league is always the barometer of a teams quality.

Ange can do whatever tricks he wants - results speak for themselves. A joke artist. As if beating the team only marginally less shit than us (16th, with a win rate of about 30% under Amorim!) changes this.
Don't be a clown yourself honestly.. You can choose to not support the club tonight, but save your spreading of Ange-hate off in inciting others from wishing to be part of potentially historic moment, at least for today.

That's been the single most disappointing thing for me this season, even more so than the inevitable 17th place finish.
Supporting a team is a strange concept, in that you could be in a city on the other side of the world, and you see someone wearing a shirt of the team you support and you feel an instant connection; in the stands, in the pubs you get hugs from strangers during celebrations because you have that invisible bond.
This season has killed that to a degree though because you see how toxic elements of the fanbase are. People slinging insults at each other, defending abuse of Ange and certain players. It's fine to make objective comments regarding suitability for the role, but attacking personal elements is just pure idiocy.

I live 15000kms away from THS so obviously don't get to games, but the impression I get is that the attitude towards the team and Ange is for the most part much more positive in the stands than on here....so there is hope for us as a fanbase yet!

Win or Lose tonight, Ange can hold his head high. He has recognised that the single thing holding this club back is the lack of trophies. You cannot attract top players if there is no prospect of winning anything, and you cannot motivate your squad if your only ambition is to finish 4th.

Ange was very clear when he joined Spurs. He's not here to finish 4th. That doesn't interest him. He's here to win. He laid out a 4 year plan to turn Spurs into a winning team.

Abandoning the EPL this season was never part of the plan but was necessary. Finally, this has demonstrated to the board that having inexperienced backup players and a medical department that I wouldn't trust to administer a band-aid is not sufficient.

Sacking Ange would be a huge mistake - win or lose. He is exactly the man needed to rebuild this club. Back him with some better backroom staff and experienced players who can play the system without constant errors.

Maybe finishing 17th is the kick up the arse that the board needed to wake them up.

Stop acting like a donkey!

We've beaten far better opposition in Europe and gained nothing.

Il happily accept this gift knowing it's nothing to do with Postecoglou

But but this graph clearly shows his knowledge of Boney M songs is far superior to ANY other Premier League Managers

And his looking at the ground to camera ratio is unrivaled in the top 5 European leagues

The facts simply don’t lie

Get a grip man... If he is here next season we will finish in the bottom half of the table assuming the squad stays fit. Loads on injuries and we are looking over our shoulder at the three promoted sides again.
