Come on seriously. At end of Nov we had 19 points from 12 games tjat extrapolated to 60 points for the season.

Dec and Jan we had shocking injury run. But end of Feb we made as pragmatic a decision as last nights tactics ie we can’t make top 6, we’re not getting relegated so let’s concentrate EL to qualify for CL. If relegation was an issue we would’ve played best xi earlier and possibly finished mid table and no trophy.

For those that are saying that he should stay next season. What would his objectives for the season be for it to be considered a success?

Personally I think he will leave because he will not want to set himself up for any failure.

Win the league. That’s very obviously his mentality.

If you think he’s afraid of failure, you haven’t been watching or listening. His “I always win in my second year” quote should be proof enough of that.

Remind me what Audere Est Facere translates to?

I have always maintained he must go regardless of the outcome of this final.

However, what I witnessed in the final, not just the result but more importantly the tactical setup to win us that game had swayed my opinion slightly.

It’s not even the fact that he won us a trophy and backed himself to do so, it’s knowing that he CAN adapt and that the players are fully behind him, that is something that cannot be ignored, he was every bit as responsible for that win as the players last night and it’s one of the very few times I have said that about him during his tenure.

It’s such a hard choice because the league form has been utterly shit and some of the things he has said and done have been frankly indefensible but I have to be honest and unbiased when I approach these things and not fall into the trap of emotional thinking.

I wouldn’t want to be in charge of making a decision about this.
I'm pretty Ange out but if he is to stay I need him to accept that sometimes it's ok to play like last night in the league, and especially when we're playing Chelsea and we're down to 9 men.

Credit to him for realising we had to play Murderball and setting it up. Fair play.

Fucking hell, a bit of a reality check for some of you blokes...

Where'd he come last year in a season uncomplicated by Europe or massive injuries?

Get a grip for god's sake and just enjoy the man while he's here.

He's done a fantastic job winning the trophy last night. No doubt about it. We've fallen at the final hurdle with better sides and managers for too long. It's a huge achievement for the club, and himself.

But we've lost 25 games in all comps this season. Twenty five. It'll be 26 after Sunday because all our players won't give a shit after last night and/or it'll be a b side out. That's not good enough and I don't think we've looked like improving at all. My opinion hasn't changed, he has to go still. He doesn't deserve a third season.

We finally get a manager who:

1. Wants to play attacking football the Spurs way
2. Defends the club and takes personal responsibility for results and decisions
3. The players very clearly adore
4. Actually delivers a major trophy

And the day after winning our first major trophy in 17 years and biggest in 41, fans are still saying “thanks but time to go” because of a freak season compounded by the worst injury crisis in memory.

You reap what you sow.

We had massive injuries that season too.

His poor league form goes beyond this season. Extrapolated, it extends well into his first season, from game 11 onwards or so.

He got 108 points from 75 league games (after the first 10 of the first season). 33 wins, 33 losses, 9 draws. That's good for 1.44 per game, or 55 over a season.

Not good enough. His cup might win him a third chance, and that may be warranted. But we can't pretend he's had a terrible league run of form for the majority of two seasons.

Just look at the records of every Spurs manager since 1984.

Ange turns teams into winners. It's a process mate...
It was much more of an achievement to bring Spurs to the CL final in 2019 even if they lost (against a prime Liverpool team) than winning the EL (or any domestic cup).
If winning the EL didn't include getting a spot in the CL it would not have been valued as much as it was. And UEFA had to include that CL-spot price for clubs to take the competition serious.
Losing 21 EPL such a pathetic way is not the sign of a winning team culture to be honest. But that's me.

Sorry mate, this is pure loser mentality.

You’re first or you’re last Ricky Bobby. The team has tasted first and that will influence their mentality a shit old more than losing the CL final in 2019 did.

Are you genuinely telling me you felt the club accomplished more after losing the final in 2019 than last night?

That is deadset insane to me.

Here in Oz I have several gooner mates (sad but true).

For them, this Spurs season could not have been more perfect, a Euro cup for Ange and 17th in the league.

I did ask them what would they prefer - 2nd in the league or a Euro cup - and they all said 2nd in the league.

But I do sense jealousy.

One of them also said: fair play to Ange, he's shown them how to win. The absolute worst thing they could do now is sack him, so let's hope they do.

I don’t even want to think about it yet. Plenty of time for that, Now’s the time for celebrating. I think they’ll keep him on now rightly or wrongly.

2nd gets you nothing sadly. No trophy for 2nd.

Woolwich have had a better season in general terms, much better results game to game. But in the history books we will be remember for 24/25, they won’t, they didn’t even make the final which at least would have been a footnote.

Run that one past me again.....it's a better achievement to get to a European final and LOSE than get to a European final and WIN a trophy. You must be an exception surely - after 17 years without a trophy and 41 years since our last European trophy are you honestly expecting any Spurs fan to agree that winning our first trophy in a generation is less of an achievement than constantly failing?

It will be to avoid being sacked. Because if he stays from day one he’ll be fighting a battle to prove he should still be here. That will overshadow everything. Look at his press conference even after winning the trophy, he’s still making defensive comments about himself and his ability. That won’t stop next year either.

Personally, I think he will stay on the basis that why would he quit when he can get sacked and get a bigger payout. Plus the club won’t want the negative PR that goes with sacking a manager who won a trophy.
