Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Shut up. Every injury has something to do with training or playing. Unless they pull a muscle while mowing the lawn or chasing their kids around the living room. It’s playing football, they get injured doing it.
The issue is why we get more of them than other teams. A pattern that follows the manager around or at least seems to.
I never said to anyone to shut up and I expect the same from others.

My head says yay, but my heart says nay. Very difficult stomaching the idea of wanting to give this guy the chop after what I'm seeing right now at the bus parade.... :ange-blow:
I hear you, but that’s why you don’t make important decisions based on emotion.

I’d like nothing more than to keep Ange and be successful with him, but we need to ask ourselves is that likely to be achieved and if so how?

It’s very difficult to ignore the league form despite the cup success.

The wind shifts quickly. If Postecoglou can't have Spurs sixth or better at Christmas fans will be asking "what have you done for me lately".
He needs to be gone now. If we sack him at Christmas, there won't be a viable manager available and we'll end up with another waste of space. Granted we won the EL but it's my belief still that we won it despite him, not because of him. We have the players to challenge for next season but we won't improve with him. And when he screws up again, his excuse will be he's concentrating on the CL....which we stand 0 chance of winning with him. Let him go on a high with his head held high (and swollen) and concentrate on the EPL next year. I'd prefer to challenge for the top four than concentrate on a trophy we won't win.

I couldn't agree more. But the reality is, at the risk of repeating myself...despite his woeful football in the PL this season, he's just won us our first major trophy in fourty one years. It's not ideal, but he's earnt himself another season with us, unless of course, he continues serving us up gash football and endless losses in the PL.
We've been shit in the league since November 2023.

In 2 full seasons he's yet to beat fucking Wolves.

Grateful for the trophy, eternally. But first major trophy in 41 years is balanced out by our worst league season in 50 years.

So we're back where we started - and he shouldn't have ever been brought back this season.

Let him go gracefully and we can all forget about all the utter shite in between those first 2 months and Bilbao.

Lol. The state of you.

With our current squad and the teams we faced, they'd all get to the final at the very least.

Gollini, Sanchez, Rodon, Tanganga, Sessegnon, Skipp, Ndombele, Doherty, Alli, Gil, Kane.

That's who Mura beat with the last kick with an extra man on the pitch. Twit.

As yes feel free to keep speculating on what magical pixie dust fairy tales you want to make up in your head you delusional little child, meanwhile the rest of us on planet earth will just accept reality and go by what actually happened in real life.

All true, but organizations aren't good at making hard decisions. I think he'll be kept on.

Top 4 is the owners goal (cashwise). Why should we care for a 4th place if, as you said, we have no chance of winning the CL?
Nice football and home wins is what a fan should look for. And/or silverware.

I'd throw Alonso's hat into the ring here as well. Very little experience, but achieved something that very few managers have with 10x the experience.
Think he'd take it/ Maybe

IF Levy would only back the club by paying market wages for talent we could really kick on now ffs. Have a squad that just needs 2-3 top players and has some great young players coming through. EL win, CL next season etc.

If you can improve as a club you do so. We've largely got out of jail with that win and have a golden opportunity to push on and be a serious threat. I dont want to see us back where we started come October, losing to pretty much every decent side, wracking up injuries and the positivity we have now just dissapearing. We then have to find someone decent to come mid season, never easy. Thanks for the trophy and best wishes but he is easily upgradeable. He isnt going to suddenly become an astute tactician, we're not going to miraculously become consistant, we're not going to stop losing a ton of games (27 out of our last 48 league games). You dont have to be Mystic Meg, we have 18 months of evidence.

Keeping everything the same in the vague hope all will be better then why not keep the entire squad together? Maybe Bissouma wont be flakey and massively inconsistant, maybe Richarlison will stay fit and develop a first touch, maybe Sonny will revert to playing like its 2020. These sort of opportunites dont come around often, imo it would be madness to piss it away out of vibes and sentimentality.
