Seems like part of the problem to me.

Levy can’t be held responsible but if you are he, you ought to have one employee reporting directly to you who is ultimately responsible for all the footballing decisions. That one person implements his plan, makes personnel decisions, and either succeeds or pays with his job. No ambiguity about who is responsible or who makes final decisions.

The clubs that succeed at the highest levels don’t run on vibes and sentimentality. They are results driven, ruthlessly when required. And rarely is ownership down in the day to day operations.

Accountability is cultural and success can’t be sustained without it
Ange and Levy both out?

You've got yourself a deal, my friend

Prem & CL teams are a different stratosphere to the Europa league. Which is why this fucking fraud chucked it all at the Europa league anyway - it’s the only competition he knew he could do something in.

Can you imagine this side under his coaching dealing with Barca, PSG etc? It doesn’t bare thinking about. Alkmaar, Frankfurt and United gave us fierce contests FFS.
May I ask a silly question?
Which manager will have a nice time not to mention winning RM, Barca, PSG etc. with our current squad? If you know him just say it loud and Levy will do the rest.

Although on second thought Ange and his bus could sometimes get a draw.

hes positioned himself so that the club cant come out with that now.

really, what hes tried doing today should rile levy up, hes trying to have him over here.

levy needs to appoint a DOF and then say its the DOF's decision. theres no 'mutual agreement' with postecoglou desperately trying to gaslight simpletons. hes desperate to stay, he knows its back to pub football after this. not as many cameras and mics in his face then....

When Paratici comes back it can be painted as his decision and to be honest it probably will be.

Look at the scenes of. Look at every thing every player said about him over the past couple days, this group is clearly behind him and this trophy has galvanised them. Sack him and you'll have some very unhappy players, but to me that seems like he knows he's staying what he said today. Roll on season 3 baby.

Ange's speech at the trophy ceremony doesn't sound like the speech of someone who is going to be leaving the club any time soon. I loved that line: "With all good TV shows - Season 3 is always better than Season 2".

So, you want and expect us to flop next season?
That's the spirit!
I don't expect doing the same thing will yield different results. I don't think it is possible to be as bad as Spurs were this season, but I don't see how you take the same failed system into a new season and expect different results. What I think will be different is that we'll get a new set of excuses.

Now if we can just schedule Bodo Glimt and Man United every week the sky's the limit.

My final say on the Ange situation.

The players won't want him to be sacked as he's part of their success story this week. They will feel like one of those horrible resets that makes everyone unsettled for a while. The many lost leagues games (if you look at our GD and goals conceded) were because our whole back 5 was out for weeks and then it became clear we had no chance of getting into Europe next season, UNLESS we won the Europa, so that was the best thing to prioritise.

Unless you bring in some amazing manager that is a no-brainer choice, sacking Ange is a huge risk to everything, including the dressing room. I'm hearing Thomas Frank now, but he doesn't have the experience that Ange now has. It would be a pure gamble. How many gambles have paid off for Levy before? Frank has managed Brentford and Brondby. That's it. Ange has a better record and pedigree, and he already knows the Spurs way. How many teams beat city 4-0 at City? You have to re-read my point above about injuries and priorities to mitigate the 17th league placing.

Did Ange get backed in the transfer window before? Nope. Only Solanke and Danso - the rest were kids for the future, that Ange had to play. He also had Kane ripped out of the team for the first time in 10 years, replaced with the less than prolific Richarlison or Solanke up front. Still finished 5th that season. If Ange was clueless, it wouldn't have been 5th.

I expect Ange will get sacked, because it's a Spurs thing to do. Go through lots of loser managers at our club and still fire the one winner. When will we ever be satisfied for 5 minutes?

I think the decision to sack him was pre-planned weeks ago. That's why we're hearing about the structural changes, including the removal of Scott Munn (an Australian, who brought Ange here, by the way) and the appointment of Fabio Paratici.

Sacking him now, though, would be very problematic in my opinion. Although it might be a rational decision, he's the one who gave us the best moment this club has had in about 40 years. Just look at the parade today — it was bouncing.

Football is all about emotion. Sacking the man who brought that emotion is causing division among the fanbase and also among the players. It would take a top hire, like Inzaghi, to get everyone on board again.

That's why Levy is in a tough spot now. If Paratici comes in, I think Ange is 100% gone. But if Levy suddenly goes with the vibes, rejects Paratici, and meddles with Vinai, it would show his incompetence and reactionary nature.

Ange knows this and is applying pressure with statements like that. He knows that suddenly, momentum is with him. The next few days will be interesting for sure.
I think that Ange will be very happy to take his 10mil and go somewhere with less pressure to enjoy the rest of his career. I'm sure that at his 60s he would like to have more time with his wife and kids in a more sunny and easy-going place.
Would't you?

Why would you choose not to enjoy this, let other club's play down this achievement. Why do it ourselves? We've been in the UEL plenty of times since '84, if it's so easy why haven't we won it? Knocked out by Zagreb in 21, Gent in 17, Fiorentina in 15, Basel in 13, PAOK and Rubin Kazan in 12. All teams you would have diminished if they were in our run this year. Be miserable if you want, but if you can't look at that parade today and see how important that is and be happy today then I don't know if Spurs will ever make you happy.

Given the emotional support for Ange right now from the rank and file supporters ( albeit not the STH’s ) ; the pressure on an incoming manager would be excessive to say the least. No one would take that on
( plus the grief of working under Daniel ) .

Mad as it may sound; Ange is through to season 3 IMO .

Why is everyone shitting all over these glory nights we’re supposed to be enjoying?
And why are people so convinced that Paratici (if he comes back) is going to ensure Ange gets the push?
With his crooked history, he’d be best advised to keep a low-ish profile for the good of the club.
There’s a lot of buzzkill being inflicted in here. Or pissing on people’s chips as my dad would have said.
FWIW, I think the best thing for the club and for Ange would be to part company on a high, but that’s not my decision so I’m just going with whatever happens and enjoying winning this “tinpot trophy which we only won because every other team in it was shit”
apparently.
What will be will be. I’m in the moment and couldn’t give a fuck right now the future or next season.
We have a platform to build from with this win and hopefully we do. If we don’t, then we still have this to remember. Enjoy the present.

With Kane and prime Son I would add.

Whatever happens we owe Ange a huge debt of gratitude for winning us our first trophy for 17 years.
Thanks Ange.
Many here thought he had no plan B, that he couldn’t adapt his style, but he showed on Wednesday that he knew exactly what was needed. He outsmarted Amorim from the get go.

If he gets the boot so be it, as long as long as they don’t replace him with Marco Silva.
In the meantime let’s enjoy the euphoria and bliss of winning a major tournament.

GO SPURS GO

37 Premier League games of AngeBall will do that to a person.
