Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

frankfurt are 3rd in germany, bilbao 4th in spain, bodo knocked out lazio who are 6th...hardly shit teams.

FA cup has never been a bigger prize than the eufa cup.

Christ. 3rd in Germany could mean anything. Union Berlin were 4th in Germany last season. They lost Marmoush and their form nosedived, their wage budget is comparable to a Bournemouth not a Spurs.

Bodo’s wage budget is comparable to Wrexham. Giant killings happen sometimes. It doesn’t make them good. They would struggle in the championship - people always cite their good results but never speak about the bad ones.

Bilbao, lol. Mate they shipped 7 to that United side over two legs. They either ran out of steam at the end of the season or weren’t motivated enough by the EL. That or the early red and 3-0 loss at home killed them. It’s a cup competition, moments like that do you in.

The FA cup is only not bigger as the prize is smaller. FA cup finals include huge, title winning clubs. Europa league is Europe’s B and C side teams duking it out. 16th vs 17th.

I guess that also explains why there’s 2 teams in the CL Final and we always win the Euros…

Oh wait

European teams compete at the top table (Madrid, Bayern, Barca, PSG etc) but the lower tier of Europe have budgets laughably low compared to the mid table sides in the prem, because money is all focused on the elite in other leagues. Hence a Prem side is going to win the conference league again, and both finalists were English despite not being good. Look at our budget and United’s budget then compare it to Bilbao or Frankfurt for a laugh.

The issue with these competitions before was it didn’t award CL or the good teams in it like Liverpool last season had bigger fish to fry so halfarsed it. English teams who prioritise it almost always do well. The only time this wasn’t true was when La Liga was by a mile the best league tactically and Sevilla, Villareal etc bossed it. They’re all shite now. That or when CL clubs dropped in.

What does any of this have to do with the Euros? The prem is majority foreign talent. The Europa league doesn’t even feature many England starters. Not a single spurs player makes the squad. Baffling point.

bodo caused an upset against lazio...bilbao got an early red card in the first leg that killed the tie. not disputing that the competition has been softened. but its still a prestigious comp to win.

take CL and money away from it, if a club had an FA cup final and a europa final they would prioritize the europa.

Yawp I'm a Tottenham Hotspur fan you Knoblet. Too bad YOU Lack the wherewithal to Expect More From Tottenham than Less than Mediocrity. Good riddance you Knoblet
Not even close to being a Spurs fan.

So many gooner troll cunts on here lately. Get fucked and take that idiot daveyboy88 with you

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! Don't ruin this cup win joy for me and regret that we even won it.

Just part ways, give him a thank you note, his money, and just LEAVE ...

If this guy stays, all this joy will be gone within the first month of next season .. The stadium, locker room, online boards, all will be so toxic .... He lucked it with this win and looks good, we got our trophy, but that's it.

Give us a REAL football manager please now .. The win showed you what these players (with key injuries) can do. Imagine what a real manager could do with them and any new signings.

PLEASE END IT.

I honestly doubt either Lazio or Bilbao make top 8 in the Prem and looking at their squad quality/wage/budgets it makes sense. There’s no reason they should be better than a Brighton. The middle tier in England is overwhelmingly financially powerful compared to anyone else due to tv money. Fulham or Brighton could poach players from a Lazio.

I highly doubt it. Man City or Liverpool would never prioritise an EL over an FA cup because they would fundamentally be ashamed of even being in the EL because they view themselves as CL teams.

Do we all remember Liverpool ‘prioritising’ the EL last season? They barely ran. Or how we used to play second string teams in it under Poch before it awarded CL?

The only time English teams prioritise the Europa league is when they need an easier root in to the CL than achieving top 4/5 or whatever.

The Europa League winners have qualified for the CL since 2014.

Since that time, Chelsea and United have won it, Atleti have won it, Sevilla and Frankfurt have won it, Atalanta have won it.

This year, 25% of the teams in it will be in the CL next season.

You are chatting shit and sound desperate tbh

Was it The Premiere League Championship?! Was it the Champion League trophy?! NOPE. It was europa league from the BOTTOM of two nearly Relegated teams. Meaningless
Tell the thousands of us that went to Bilbao (at no small cost) that it was meaningless.

Tell the 220,000 that were on the high road with another 100,000 watching online that it was meaningless.

What a fucking stupid cunt., 45 posts in 4 years tell the tale.

Cunt.

We can only play the teams that these competitions present us, but we managed against numerous teams that were well below the PL standard, played a final against a poor team that didn’t turn up, and we really didn’t either except the back four and Biss. We did well enough not to lose it, and we got the one bounce that decided the cup.

To ignore 99 other matches and suddenly believe Ange is a great manager or some kind of a pure motivator is insane. He has posted the worst record of any manager we’ve had in decades and never motivated anyone to anything. The players looked as if they could not be arsed at any point this year.

We all know what’s going to happen because it’s the same thing we’ve seen for two years, getting worse and worse all the time. Despite this one glorious aberration

And not a single fucking one of them will do anything of note. You know it, I know it, every cunt on here knows it.

Sevilla used to piss the competition for fun, rock up to get beaten by every half decent CL team and then win it again. Because it’s the ropey league.

I know you’re desperate to pretend it is something it isn’t just to cling on to this manager, but you sound desperate tbh.

A competition Rangers, fucking Rangers, were recently a few good penalties away from winning. That alone should end this entire discussion.

United must be amazing to have finished so high in the table and been unbeaten till the final. A properly good team to have achieved that in such a strong competition.

Deluded waffle.

liverpool went full strength in the second leg and threw the big boys on in the first when they realised they was in jeopardy. klopp underestimated atalanta just like pep has against us in the CL 1/4s.

No but I don't think he'll last the season.
Ok - name your charity and then remind when I forget. I forget a lot.

I think Ange is gone, but I’m dreading to see what shite Paratici has lined up. Knowing him it’s likely to be Marco Silva or Thiago Motta, a wildly boring mid table finish and limp UCL exit. I like Thomas Frank a lot but don’t like the idea of him coming into a cup winning team managing in the champions league next season, he would have been a better option if we lost on Wednesday. Glasner is staying at Palace. I think Vincenzo Italiano could be the best option to replace Ange if he goes.

Woolwich would love to have won it but got beat by worse teams than we beat.

Jose, Conte and Poch all failed to win it.

If it’s such a Micky mouse piece of piss to win, why has it been 41 years since we did?

Why did 200k yids turn up to celebrate it? Eco did 20k spend £1000’s to get to Bilbao to support the team? Why did all the experts predict United and their monster wage bill (double ours probably) would win it?

You may not like it but this was a HUGE, watershed moment for our club and our fans and it was Ange and a bunch of players that you hate who delivered it.

If you were a fan of the club more than a fan of your own opinions, you’d get over yourself and enjoy it. But you can’t do that.

Not a single team we’ve played would be top half in the prem. The one we played in the final are literally 16th and were somehow unbeaten in the same competition.

It’s a big trophy due to the reward (CL) and because it’s a European cup. Its prestige is very high in relation to the actual competitive challenge.

If the FA cup gave you CL it would immediately become a better trophy - you play much better teams.

None of which should alter the enjoyment of winning it, but in that context I’m not gonna bum lick Ange or indulge in him massaging his own back for doing it either. Thanks for getting over the line and breaking our duck but we all have eyes and can see the quality of the teams we played.
Spot on post
