Re your first bullet, shouldn't that be more about improvements to training? We should be aiming to have fewer injuries in the first place (as well as a medical team that helps players recover quickly )

Well, a coach's expectation is that the player is deemed fit by the medical team to play. It's up to them to prepare the player and sign him off as ready.

What I don't subscribe too is that Ange is at fault for injuries because he asks them to sprint. These are professional athletes, if they cannot sprint without pulling a hamstring; they have no business playing at an elite level.

Romero was out almost entire season under Conte.
VDV had hamstring issues before joining Spurs.
Romeros, Vicario and Kulu's injuries cause by tackles.
Udogie's hamstring injury has been ongoing for 2 seasons - the medical team should have resolved this.

It's a big gamble giving Ange the first ten games or so when in all likelihood our results won't be great so then it could be a bigger mess in who is available and what the squad looks like . I don't envy Levy in this one as it's a real dilemma for him .I don't know who the alternative is to Ange that realistically would come to us and if he is good enough to do a difficult job

Have we scored a goal like the Brighton lad did for their 4th. I can’t see anyone of our forwards bang in a goal like that.

Son used to be able to.
Johnson and Solanke - impossible.
Neither can beat man, Neither can shoot from anything other than close range.
Neither can run with the ball even without beating a man.

Our attacking play is scrappy - in the last ten PL games have we even scored a proper goal?

Werner was our most exciting forward - when he had the ball at his feet- there was a level of expectation.

Johnson is lauded for scoring the winner in the final - he either didn't touch it ( most likely) or it was a miss hit.

Solanke is hailed for chasing their defenders. So much so that he 8s knackered - when he does get a chance.
CL final breakaway a clear example.

Ange has played turgid attacking football - and been reckless in defence . Quite an achievement.

The only expectation Werner gave us was that he’d miss. I agree on the rest.

In two seasons how often has this so called great attacking philosophy called ‘Angeball’ actually been seen. We see it in moments. Our attacking play on the whole is shite when we have more of the ball. Our best moments come from transition.
True. When we have possession we don't know what to do with it. Other than pass safely as forced to by the oppo. We lack ideas, imagination, creativity, skill and movement. It's a pale shadow of Poch's swashbuckling team

Maybe. But the EL parade is new information. I'd imagine (speculation) he was firmly Ange out but the last week has made him wonder what the right thing to do is.

Lose the final and Ange was gone.
Win the final and the reality of winning it - was always going to change the atmosphere and narrative. Despite all the hypothetical talk to the contrary before it.

My guess is he will get the start of next season - I would be ok with that.
If we don't buy his player choices.

But we just had about 6 months of
'I will be shocked if he is in charge of the next match'
I can see the same scenario playing out next season just not with the happy end...

As some other poster said levy only cares about pr not football. Levy will ride the angetrain as long as he can.
He'll care if there's a chance we could go down. There was very little chance of that this season.
Promotion clubs already look better for next season.

What worries me in conversations like this is it is down to Levy’s choice. Imagine the disaster if he went for Southgate for instance?

Isn't though is it?

His track record has been pretty decent IMO. I know the mental gymnastics come out to deny him credit and attribute it to luck, but you can't really argue with the vast majority of his appointments.

Where it gets more worrying is that it'll be Paratici's choice. The man who offered it to Gattuso, and appointed Nuno and Conte

But the thing that is clear, Poch gets a lot of excuses for what was a pretty long stint, t then apparently Ange won a major cup and he had absolutely nothing to do with it….

:ange-hmm:

I’m not defending the league form and I won’t be up in arms if he does go, it’s just odd he did what he said he would do, we loved the win then we move on yet again.
Ange didn't win a cup. He's a coach. He's one man.
Poch didn't not win a cup. He too is a coach. He is one one.
It's a squad game.

The early part of the season was bizarre, we'd fashion two and a half semi-presentable chances in 100 minutes and 173% possession of the ball and people were raving about how we should have had 3, meanwhile the opposition were having 47 clear cut open goals from 73 seconds of having the ball and everyone was just ignoring it...

There are people that are still arguing we were the better team and outplayed the likes of Newcastle and Arse. They're too limited to understand when a team is happy to cede possession and be patient. Ironically they rave about US doing it. It's Ange's amazing plan B. But nobody else could ever possible choose to do it Vs us.

The mental gymnastics is strong with you, therefore Ange didn’t get us the league position? But yet fans call for his head?
:ange-hmm:
I smell, smell agenda and the usual rule bending. I think if you looked a little deeper than your out look Poch got us to a few finals and semifinals. Also a title race. But as you say, was nothing to do with him, it was the squad.
