Real Betis or Man U? Djurgården or Bodo? AZ or whoever Chelsea played? It's pretty much the same story. Not really impressive for Chelsea or Spurs, lets be honest. But if you do it, might as well do it in style.Bossing the Conference League with a 3 billion squad, how impressive.
Having a much better squad than our opponents also certainly helped. Can't say it was an even playing field in Europa league either.
Gotta love an alcohol-apartheid state.I lived and worked in Abu Dhabi and Muscat, Oman for ten years and spent many weekends in Dubai. Muscat was a great place to live, Abu Dhabi not so much, but still OK. I had the chance to move to Dubai or Qatar for another four years but turned both down.
Yes it was ridiculously hot and the humidity in summer was even worse than the heat, but you do get used to it and we still went out and about even in the summer - mad dogs and Englishmen, etc. Alcohol was expensive but readily available in hotels and at home (as a non-Muslim resident I had a license to purchase it). It was safe for the family and the education at the British school was excellent. Those were great times.
Retire there? Nah.
The wives and kids used to get out of Dodge the day the schools broke up and not come back until the day before they started again. I was stuck there for all but three or four weeks of it.I don't trust old men that go to Thailand
Serious Gary Glitter vibes.
My wife was so proud of the great "deal" she got for our holiday to Abu Dhabi in 2023.
It was "cheap" because nobody in their right mind goes to Abu Dhabi in July when it's 45c and 80-90% humidity.
I was fucking drenched every minute I wasn't inside an airconditioned building. No way I could survive there for a whole summer. The hotel had even put all their outdoor activity equipment away because they knew no one could actually function in it. It wasn't enjoyable, it was more like an endurance test.
Although the outside Rollercoaster at Ferarri Land was fun. If you like being blasted at 100mph into that 45c 90% climate.
I had no idea I was about to start a travel and tourism debate!Popped in to see if there was any news and…w…T…f?? Blackpool vs Dubai vs Thailand and some historical commentary on the decline of the British summer-beach holiday.
Gotta love this place

He’s not going anywhere voluntarily that’s for sure.
I don’t see why anybody non Islamic would want to live in those countries. You’re literally a fish out of water.I lived and worked in Abu Dhabi and Muscat, Oman for ten years and spent many weekends in Dubai.
