Reckon we'll still have another week or so of this. Joy.

If Ange was given the pre-season remit:
Just win a trophy... Win a trophy FFS!
...oh, and get us into the CL...
MOST amongst us would suggest that winning the League Cup and finishing 5th (y'know, like Newcastle did) would constitute a great season...
As many pundits are doing when referring to the job Eddie Howe did there.
But consider this: Newcastle won the League Cup but DIDN'T finish 5th, therefore not qualifying for the CL ... a good season, put the trophy hoodoo to bed,, but that's it, that trophy doesn't bring a CL place. So not great, but it'll do.
OR they lost the League Cup final to Liverpool, so the wait for a trophy goes on... BUT they finished in the CL places, so at least have that as their consolation. A fairly good season, all things considered.
Spurs and Newcastle have had remarkably similar seasons...
We've BOTH achieved a trophy, AND finished with a CL spot next season!
We just did BOTH with just ONE trophy, and rested up in the league because it wasn't necessary to finish any higher.
Whether you like it or not... or like HIM or not, Ange has played the system and won!
Professional players, ex Spurs players will never back a sackingGoldstein on TalkSport just mentioned to a Villa fan that when they won the European Cup they finished bottom half of the league and lost 15 games that season.
The debate was whether we had a better season than Villa or not. History probably proves that we did.
Robbie Keane was also on TalkSport saying his two kids are Spurs fans and he didn't really care about the league form.
In general, I think most pros and ex Spurs players back the manager more than the average social media influencer.
With that in mind, and a week after our last defeat, I have calmed down a bit with some perspective and I think I am ready to go again next season.
Literally no one doesn't agree that if we're shit for the first 10 games next year we've gotta cut bait.Who is content with being in 17th, show me one person who is happy to finish in that position, someone, anyone?
So me defending my position because you were completely misquoting me in a rather antagonistic and condescending manner is me getting ‘an erection over a debate’?!lol nuances
When the fucking conversation is about about hiring managers, mid table managers at that and Ange is being used as a comparison to said managers then what fucking nuance are you seeing? lmao. Look it aint my fault if misunderstood the point being made and you got an erection over a debate which even then you're in the wrong about anyway.
At this point you just need to stop replying with nonsense and quit whilst you're ahead if I were you.
I grew up in Slough mate, I certainly don't want that in my profile name!!
With more shots on goal and more fucking spirit and dignityI think the difference between us is that the disgrace of having lost 22 fucking times in the league far outweighs the temporary joy at winning a trophy.
We played Utd in the final. The only team in the competition shitter than us. Tim fucking Sherwood could have managed to get us a win in that final.
Who is content with being in 17th, show me one person who is happy to finish in that position, someone, anyone?

What some of us realize is that it may be the same under a new manager Nuno-style.
We're in a fraught moment here. Potential and resources to kick on, but facing an absurdly difficult schedule and with ENIC running the show it could also really be a disaster.
After the first 8 games last season we had 20 pts and were top of the league, the next 30 games collected 46 pts, this season we collected 38 pts. So after those first eight or so games in 2023, we have been getting progressively worse in the PL.Which is rather odd, given that he finished 5th in his first season. Better than all the coaches that people seem to want to take over from him.
So me defending my position because you were completely misquoting me in a rather antagonistic and condescending manner is me getting ‘an erection over a debate’?!
Added to ignore list as you’re clearly just a WUM!
Anyone who thinks he should stay?Who is content with being in 17th, show me one person who is happy to finish in that position, someone, anyone?
Surely anyone who wants him to stay? It's not even a bad run of form - take the first 10 games of his tenure out of the equation and we've been pretty much 17th placed form for the last 58 games

What position did you have to defend in the first place you clown, you're the one trying to spin the argument in your favour
And you're the one who started this condescending bullshit, not me.
Good thing you've put me on ignore, at least now you won't have to tie yourself in knots going forward.![]()
Why not? Wanting to give Ange a 3rd season is intrinsically a suggestion of satisfaction at his performance. We're not competing in the Europa League next season, so it can hardly be taken that he can repeat anything good.
Those 1st games were just "new manager "bounce" clearly...then he put his stamp on the club...Surely anyone who wants him to stay? It's not even a bad run of form - take the first 10 games of his tenure out of the equation and we've been pretty much 17th placed form for the last 58 games
