If that is true then it was obvious, as I said you can't keep him all season to see if he wins the EL and then still sack him after, doesn't make sense.

Anyone melting down over this should have set their expectations really.

The Di Merzio info (Paratici mouth piece) to me suggests they where willing to bring in a world class manager like Inzaghe if that was possible and if not just keep Ange and sounds like we have no chance with Inzaghe.

We finish the season 10th and win the FA Cup.

2 trophies in 3 seasons, how would you look at Ange then?
Good question. Europa League the following season - hmmmm. I'd look at him like this...

I want CL.

By the way - your suggestion won't happen under The Post. Under him we won't win another trophy and we'll finish lower than 10th - oh and by the way, it will all be achieved in the same manner as this year - with shit football and unnecessary injuries.

It’s not always about coaching though. If you’re trying to impose yourself on the opposition it’s all about the confidence players feel to be positive in squeezing up. Guardiola is the greatest coach of all time maybe, but City’s press totally collapsed this year because players lost confidence and were not as aggressive.

True but I think some of it is more Ange’s wide wingers and inverted full backs.

We invert the full backs, this means our wingers need to stay wide and hold the width otherwise we stuck central. We don’t have proper wingers other than Odobert who is young and has been injured. Son and Johnson are not true wingers, as such we can’t create space and we lose the ball often and get hit on the counter with a poor press and a high line.

We can still play high line hard press with wide full backs and inverted wingers in a 433. This is how Klopp’s Liverpool played and we have the players better suited to this than inverted full backs and wide wingers. I don’t get why Ange doesn’t make this change as it would allow us to attack but be better fitting to what we have. I appreciate he made adaptions in the EL but we don’t need to play defensive all the time just adapt the attacking system a bit.

As for City Pep can get away with being stubborn because of his record and because City will buy him whatever he wants to fix that issue. Ange sadly doesn’t have that luxury.

Yeah, at a point this season every side we faced was letting us circulate the ball wide, the wingers would always turn back and play the ball inside to a crowded midfield where the opposition sprung their pressing traps and the ball was turned over and we would concede on the counter.

If the wingers are upgraded to assertive ball manipulators then the opposition have to divert more coverage wide and the middle opens up and we have more options.

We have CL this season and a trophy but you are still looking at him like that?
Sorry mate, I'd just added this to my post while you were typing...

My question to you is, under MY suggestion, are you happy to have him around? (my scenario is more likely than yours).

Because they brought their own coaches with them.

Mason and 1 or2 will go now. Maybe takes one of the others with him, there’s a good opportunity to bring in some elite coaches to the team
That’s the only way I see there being any success retaining Ange.

Belief and mentality you refer to in an earlier post only gets you so far if the opposing manager has your number tactically.

The coaches need to be elite as you say as bringing in more mates has been shown not to work.

Shocking decision if he stays.

Arrogant gas lighting fucker. Cupping his ear to the fans then denying it.

That alone should see him sacked. Can't believe some want him to stay.

Another league campaign down the drain incoming and they'll not be a cup this time.

There is a reason Ange wanted Gallagher for the press and Neto for the wing last summer.

Like he shithoused the EL Final?

Tbh VVD should have been sent off when that second leg was still 0-0, he elbowed Richarlison who was up to shithousing to start the game.

But the state of the squad and the number of games the few players we had left meant most games were pointless by that stage of the season.

If we weren't so trophy starved, he'd have played a lineup of academy kids and fucked it off much earlier, probably the United QF even.

VVD one of my least favourite players in the PL!
