This whole episode is very confusing. I don't believe the team and the manager weren't talking during the season about his future. At the end of the season Postecoglou joked about trying to crash the transfer discussion meeting. But he's supposed to be on good terms with at least Munn. Something seemed to happen in the month leading up to the cup final, because Postecoglou seemed genuinely annoyed and began talking about the possibility he wouldn't be back. Either Spurs management is unusually dysfunctional or he was told something and didn't like whatever it was. It could be as simple as he was told the decision would be made after the season and he wants to put pressure on Levy. In any case, it all seems like an odd way to do business.
It's very Levy that all this Vinai and Paratici stuff is twisting about in an unclear fashion during an important decision-making period for the club.

But even that said, as much as one game didn't and shouldn't have changed the broader situation with Ange, that one game DID very dramatically change the broader situation with Spurs itself. That does bear some review.

yes!!! youve got it! off the back of the last 20 months, its evident he wont get any 23 footballers ever, to get anywhere near to competing to that level!
It's the world's dumbest internet thing to say and think, but I can't help it: I want Ange to stay because his haters make just the absolute worst arguments I've ever seen. Ange Out is a campaign of complete idiocy, and the fact that they are probably correct in the end is an extremely annoying inconvenience.

yea its gone completely over your head.....

you want ange to stay because of people you dont know online??? are you some sort of cunt?

Gut feeling if paratici comes back he might have recommended inzaghi to levy. After tonight not so sure. De Zerbi for me as has premier league experience. Just worry about his ego. Iraola but not sure he will quit bournemouth. Were in champions league so have big bargaining chip. Next year poch and tuchel will be available so whoever is manager next season and they screw up have two world class managers available.

You want Ange to stay to spite the fans that want him gone, even though you yourself want him gone?
I know they say it takes a masochist to support Spurs but that's some new level of bizarre on me.

What makes you think Tuchel will be available next summer? Chances are if we do well he will extend til at least Euro 2028.

I'm sincerely torn on the Ange question.

The low quality of argumentation against him continues to make me feel like keeping him must be the right answer though.
Enfin la verite
I also have noticed the extremely low quality of argumentation against him.
It basically consists of calling those who think know Ange is a winner various extremely bizarre names.
BTW, who knew argumentation was a real word?

Lol.

The low quality of argumentation? You guys are quality. Really and truly.

We finished on 38 points. In other years this has you locked in a tight relegation fight. We were the worst not promoted premier league team.

Prior to this season, we had an awful finish to the last in which we lost nearly every game. We haven’t played consistent quality football since the first time Ange got here. This is a team heading nowhere, looking almost entirely un coached.

We won a cup. A cup where we played a horrendous United team who are right next to us as a terrible side. Both of us got to a European final based on a talent advantage over middle tier sides in Europe.

None of what we did to win the cup was Ange’s football. It was just win at all costs stuff. Which is fine but not feasible across higher quality competitions as good opposition who are actually coached put us down.

The EL final was two teams who looked badly coached & one side got the break. It was some of the lowest quality dirge you will ever see.

A year and a half of terrible performances in all competitions apart from the distinctly weaker Europa league and you’re sat here talking about weak arguments.

The argument to keep Ange is literally just ‘he won something’. That’s it. And it falls so flat when you expose it to context.

The guys exposed at the elite level.

The timing of it and his post Europa win comments that he decided to make winning the Europa the sole priority and that others at the club did not agree would suggest that's what it was.

The elite level is not just about being competitive but going in with the intent of winning the league and/or the Champions League. Levy aims for top 4 to get in the Champions League because that's his spending ceiling. He doesn't care enough to invest to win those trophies- but the fans clearly do want to win to trophies, and so does Postecoglou

Whoever replaces Postecoglou will have to accept that reality, and they in a sense will also be exposed at the elite level and we'll have to remain content with that.

Just keep writing us off please

If you start rating us we’ll end up like Diaby in Saudi or benched like Grealish. Even Foden you were saying is world classclass.
Exactly, fair weather supporters, not the type to watch your back that's for sure!
This club never seem to stick with the manager it hires, not honoring the contract they appear to sign in good faith.
And some go along with their flawed decision making! Its no wonder they cannot attract anyone who has been around this level for a while. I cannot remember the last time I have heard the phrase "Levy Out" in this conversation.
