Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I find it strange that at the start of the season the majority of sentiment on here was fuck the league, just win a trophy. Now that he’s done that the sentiment has changed to fuck a trophy we need a better league season.
Putting all my bias aside, I honestly believe Ange will be staying. He has performed, contractually, perfectly. In his 2 seasons he has returned us to European football, won a European trophy and qualified for the riches of the CL.
Irrespective of your thoughts on our league performances, he absolutely has earned the right to start the season.
It seems though it’s a case of damned if you do and damned if you don’t for a lot on here.
Nah. That's nonsense.
We're a big enough club to win regular trophies without sacking off the league to do it. No way was that the majority sentiment. May have been an odd loser here or there but that's about it, matey.

If only Poch had qualified for the Europa each year instead of CL he could have won 2 or 3?
He did. Didn't make it past the last 16. Which is strange, given that it's such an easy competition to win. Apparently.

Yes, Mauricio Pochettino did manage Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League. During his tenure as Spurs manager from 2014 to 2019, the club participated in the Europa League in the 2014–15 and 2015–16 seasons.

  • In 2014–15, Spurs reached the Round of 32, where they were eliminated by Fiorentina.
  • In 2015–16, they progressed to the Round of 16, but were knocked out by Borussia Dortmund.
  • In 2016–17, Spurs reached the Round of 32, where they were eliminated by Gent.

Nah actually it’s not. I can’t be fucked trawling back through pages to quote countless people saying sick of finishing top 4-5 but winning nought.
And big club? Who’ve won zilch in 17 years domestically and nothing European for 40 years. We could be the biggest club in the world, but we still want to win shit.
Granted, Ange needs to be more adaptable, but my entire post was that I believe he’s earned the right to start the season, learn from his mistakes, and see where it gets us. Starting all over again is not the answer RIGHT NOW.

did you watch that match?

can you talk me through the FIRST MINUTE

I've seen under-11 teams better coached

Well, to be fair, Bergvall, Moore, Kinsky, Tel, Gray are just kids with limited experience. Danso and Tel had only just joined; I think this was their 2nd game; and Moore I don't think had started a game. We had 4 experienced players on the pitch - Son, Kulu, Bentancur and Porro; all of whom had played just 3 days earlier against Liverpool (and Brentford, 3 days before that...and Elfsberg 3 days before that....oh and etc etc.).

Our bench had Biss, Sarr, Cassanova, Austin, Forster, Ajai, Hardy, Davies and Reguillon. Hardly game changers!

This match was on 9th Feb. The last time the squad had more than 4 days between games was 1st December. 20 games in the space of 70 days.

We were missing Solanke, Odobert, Madisson, VDV, Vicario, Udogie, Romero, Johnson during this period.

Yes. Unlike Mourinho, Conte, and Nuno, we gave Ange a "fair" shot in the context of the most competitive league in the world. Even when his form warranted a sacking in January.

One cup win does not negate 1.66 seasons of relegation form in the league.

Serious clubs sack him. Liverpool sacked dalglish after he won the fa cup, Chelsea sacked ancelotti a year after winning the double despite a perfectly reasonable second season. It’s what happens. Trouble is, we have levy who will follow it up with a wrong appointment. But we shouldn’t be scared to try.

Because when most said they wanted a trophy and fuck the league they probably didn’t mean to the extent we finished 17th! 😂😂😂

Whichever way you slice it Levy acting with zero class as usual . Either sack him or make a statement saying he is staying . In my opinion the only reason Levy is stringing Ange along is he is sniffing around other managers to see if anyone does not tell him to fuck right off.

We are not at Jol levels of scumminess YET , but we appear to be working on it .

I am Ange out and if we cannot feel confident in sacking him knowing we can attract better it shows how far we have fallen as an attractive opportunity for a manager . Show some class Spurs sack him or say he is staying instead of sneaking around behind his back .

All the above admittedly is just opinion but with the season over I can see no reason to not either fire or confirm him . Pretty disgusting in my view .
