Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think for sure clarity on the manager was really needed after the Europa league win.

If there is 1 thing we should know about Daniel Levy by now is that when a situation arises with the various managers during his tenure as chairman is when there are fan outcrys in such epic proportions of " MANAGER OUT" and the tabloids are writing the same shit day in day out
That deafening silence from within the club is a bad thing and normally ends about 2 weeks later with the manager being sacked.

Levy has never endeared himself to the Spurs fans because he plays his cards close to his chest and never publicly backs his managers in the press through good times & bad times but he is a very understated chairman and in so many ways we are lucky to have him because genuinely every decision and deal he does has the club's best interests at heart.

Growing up as a Spurs fan was easy in the 80's and early 90's with constant successes in Domestic cups and European competitions.

We would always pay the big bucks on transfer fees (especially on wages) to bring in some of our countries biggest and brightest talents Hoddle, Waddle, Gazza , Linekar, Teddy Sheringham,Jurgen Klinsmann, David Ginola to name but a few but it was also that kind of approach which almost bankrupt the club before another unpopular chairman in Sir Alan Sugar (also a fan) rescued the club financialy and in the process fucked Terry Venables out of all of his shares and the whole fan base with his self centred no nonsense approach and business way of thinking plus the whole Christian Gross as manager finished that off but he was very vocal as chairman and equally never had the fans on his side was total opposite to Levy

but he stabilized the club and very swiftly after the death threats......... sold to Levy and Enic which was great business at the time.

Levy has been a quiet operator who always drives a hard bargain when negotiating incomings/outgoings and rightly so over the years we've seen player signings such as Robbie Keane (twice) jermain Defoe (twice) Berbatov, Carrick, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale ,Van De Vaart (my personal favourite signing under Levy) ,Sandro (the beast), Moussa Dembele, Christian Eriksen, Dale Alli then you start putting a list together of the more expensive fails in this department of incomings like Rebrov, Pavlychenko, Postiga, Giovanni Dos Santos , Roberto Soldado, Ndombele, Lo Celso,Lamela and you can see big money being spunked on players with huge potential and it not paying off for whatever reason but yet Levy has always backed his managers financially whilst accruing investment in a state of the art modern new stadium & training complex worthy of any great sporting franchise anywhere in the world.

I wouldn't want to be Daniel Levy right now
because Ange in/out is most definitely the hardest decision as a chairman he has had to make on a manager

Much harder than sacking Poch (who put his job on the line by insisting for over a year for Levy to buy Tanguy Ndombele)

He has to put his chairman hat on and think with his head and not his heart on Ange

Dogshit in the league pretty much since Chelsea game 23/24 last season when we got hammered

Yet here we are Europa League Champions with the cup to prove it.

I have never seen a whole changing room of players backing for a manager quite like Ange

It's a tough decision and only one Danial Levy can make but please from all of us can you just make a decision either way so we can all get on with our stessful as fuck being a spurs fan in the present day era
Coz it's stressful 😂😂😂
How do we know the players back Ange? It’s not as if they are going to say that they hate playing under him,.

I Feel Awful For You Golden Girls GIF by TV Land
Amazing how some gifs are so pointless

Even after the “Mole” saga? Do consider there may actually have been a crackdown…
The Highbury Mole is infact from the infamous newly appointed 24/25 sports/science dept who have shown how inept they are at doing there jobs this season.
We need to put these bullets back in the barrel and fire them back down the street to where they came from
Setting up a new professional sports/science & medical dept that is associated with the best elite clubs in the world of football is high on the club's agenda for this summer

the more expensive fails in this department of incomings like Rebrov, Pavlychenko, Postiga, Giovanni Dos Santos , Roberto Soldado, Ndombele, Lo Celso,Lamela
Rebrov was actually signed under Sugar so the purchase wasn't on Levy but I do feel that Rebrov was a casualty of Glenn Hoddle's management (who was hired by Levy).

Rebrov had a reasonably good first season with us (13 goals plus assists) which while not outstanding was definitely something that could have been built upon but Hoddle preferred a 35 year old Teddy Sheringham and Rebrov's first team opportunities were greatly curtailed.

I agree with your comments about Levy. We are fortunate to have a responsible chairman with a genuine love for the club (even though we may not always be happy with his decisions). I'll take Levy over the Glazers or Jim Ratcliffe or any of the Saudi/Qatari regimes any day. As my father always said: "Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it."

My point is as a fan of a club you are the chairman of (like Levy or Sugar before him) you must be a chairman 1st and fan 2nd with all decisions and it must make it the hardest job to be president business.

Just like to point out that terry venables fucked terry venables over because he was a greedy crook... go look at the high court judgement.
