Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sensible, rational post.

I fucking hope this isn't the case though. Frank's a good manager but hardly inspiring off the back of an EL win. We'll be comfortably back up to 8th and knocked out in the quarters of all Cups, if that.

The only way this makes sense to me is Frank steadying the ship for 18 months before Poch comes back.

Hire Xavi now.
We aint paying £20 million for a manager to steady the ship until after the WC, I think Ange is staying now.

If this 17th-place loser is allowed to stay in post, it would confirm that Levy no longer has any real ambition for my club.

It does feel like its a 50/50 between keeping Ange and hiring Frank at this stage. Sounds like frank has beaten off all the other competition.

Sounds like the board have already interviewed Frank and want to give him the job. Paratici is definitely in the Frank camp anyway! While the players are very much behind Ange and probably pushing back against the board and club. We are all assuming Levy gets the final say but its hard to know if its all being left with him either. This new CEO might have a say in it too. Its rare that you get such a huge split between all the players and all the board members. Someone needs to make the decision and a lot of people won't be happy with the outcome either way.

For a start, don't "you people man" me, pal.

Instead of looking for a fight or comparing me with someone who shits on the CL, maybe you actually should read my posts and try & understand my rationale. But maybe balanced views aren't your thing.
Absolutely nobody has done that btw, this guy is just making up absurdities to argue against because the ridiculous hypothetical the Ange fanatics have dreamed up has no substantial argument in their favour...

Poch's priority was top 4 - above all else. There was no pressure to win anything, and no compromises made to try and win a domestic cup.

Our Champions League run to the final resulted in 3 wins from our final 12 league games as he rested players and played weakened teams in the league. It was only through shockingly bad Woolwich and United end of season run that we got 4th; and we were just a few points away from ending up 6th.
Totally delusional downplaying Poch and trying to make out Ange is a better coach!

Ange has lost more league games in a season than Poch did over a three year period.

Stop drinking the Ange Kool Aid it’s fried your brain!

Love calling bullshit out when I see it.

You can't fluke 15 matches in a competition including winning it. You can be Ange Out all you like, the 22 defeats are a stain that will more than likely see him gone.

But calling the EL win a fluke pours water over the achievement and shits on every fan that turned up in Bilbao as well as went to celebrate at the parade, so FUCK THAT!

Don't get me started on some of the slop we've served up in cup competitions over the past decade or more.
Fluke? No.

But you can be "overpowered" for it.
The only club we faced in the entire tournament with resources close to us was Man United and they're worse than we are.

So no, it's not a fluke. But Ange was lucky in the sense he was allowed to keep losing week after week in the premier league, and continue to manage wins on Thursdays.

ANY OTHER manager prior to him would have been sacked before getting to the final and, ultimately winning it.
He was afforded a privilege none prior have been. And in a way, that is his fluke.

If the football had been better and instead of 22 defeats they were halved and we’d finished 7th but no Europa cup win would that have been better received ?

That's a very good question.

Even more interesting is: what if the NEXT manager achieves 7th and no cups next season with better football will that be received well? I reckon the answer is probably "yes". Especially if we don't spend well in the window.

I say give him the job if he wants it that badly
