They don’t want to sell a portion of the club. If they did they’d have done it by now as they’ve been spinning that same line for twenty years.
This feels very different and bringing in Vinai Venkatesham is massive for fan relations & the shifting of power at the top of the club maybe not an immediate shift of ownership but here to broker the best deal possible for potential investors which has been rumbling on for a couple of years

We have fans throwing toys out the pram and getting jealous of other clubs having 'seriously
considering' tweets about players.

Fucking state of it.

I guess expectations of a brighter future were raised with the European trophy win, super cup and champions league place. our first time in the new bigger more lucrative format at that.

in such a moment it can be easy to forgot that we're still run by ENIC. :angesmile2:

......And Newcastle.

.......And Woolwich.

......And if some of you lot here were to be believed a month or two ago; his inevitable destination, the title winners Liverpool.

Elite players follow the scent of success.......... Over-paying for non-elite players = a squad of Ndombele's.

I am pretty sure he’s just come in as Donna’s replacement and it will be business as usual for Enic (until Lewis dies anyway).

Naming rights has been even longer. The money lost in 6 years compared to accepting the amount less than Levy wants, how would they compare?
I heard it's been a bit of a blessing as it has increased the Brand of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, rather than it being a named arena like Uber Stadium or something.

I think that's why that made that statement of making sure we are announced as Hotspur or Spurs rather than just Tottenham

All sorts of money spinners are welcome; but I never wanted have our home be branded by some wankfest like Amazon or Emirates.

Absolutely fine with it... I only wish we'd have kept the name WHL.

You still have to be willing to pay for elite players though. “The scent of success” is just a very small element.

Otherwise we would have signed high quality players routinely when we were on the trail of success in 2015-2019.

For a long time Joe Lewis's death looked to be the potential watershed; but really it all depends on his siblings now and if they want to liquidate in order to invest the family fortune elsewhere.

Fair to assume JL doesn't give a toss anymore.

Eze always confused me whether he plays 10 or on the wing. I suppose Grealish too. Both would solve our LW problem and provide for some support for Son, and provide experience.

Eze has more years left in his locker, but Grealish is a touch of class above I'd think (and better trained under Pep). That and he obviously has more CL experience. I'd say that seniority is more important to our squad than Eze at this stage.

This is an insanely bad take. Eze is cresting into his peak years. He’s sharp, focussed and supremely confident . Grealish has lost his hunger, and Pep has made him question himself to the point where he plays with no natural joy anymore. Plus there’s lots of rumours that his private life is a bit of a mess.

Eze all day, every day.
