Kit New Kit

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Already have the EL Winning kit the Vapor-Knit with Son on the back as I had to buy on a bet during the Man United Match where Sonny scored that Olympico 'If sonny scores I buy the fukkers shirt!' that cost me £130 from the shop as they had a 20% discount on em.

£151 as I said is fine IF it was the only Spurs merch I bought but as I've said before I aint coughing up any coffers for merch until they earned it with some bloody wins next season...if we win another trophy probably...

They only do the 'shit' stadium version for the 'Winners' shirt which, as I said, aint worth £80 let alone £108!

I'm 41 & still wear Spurs shirts (I own about 20 I think) but then I wear them about the house - I only wear them out if the godkids or mates want a kickabout.

I also own other team's shirts too.
Like I said - to each their own. Got plenty of friends here and abroad that buy and wear kits, it just doesnt feel right on me. I'd rather a branded tee, polo, etc.

I do think there's 2 different cultures at play. Traditionally, most PL kits have been sold without player names and numbers. Whereas US jerseys almost always have a player name and number.

I think this is part of the genesis of new year->new kit. Whereas players drive sales in the US, in the UK if the kit doesnt change the only reason you'd buy a new one is when you get fatter.
It is a leaguewide kit deal as you mentioned, but I've always thought the MLS practice of staggering the home and away kits in alternate years so there's always something new to buy but new kits always last for two seasons was a sort of elegant middle ground.

I don't buy kits, to each their own but as a 40 year old man I feel like a tit.

I agree with you about not changing all the kits every year. But its just not going to happen without a change in the business model of football - such as a pivot to a collective kit and apparel deal across the league. But that isnt feasible outside of a completely new structure I don't want to talk about, because of promotion/relegation. This is just the reality of the market now.

Uniforms are one of the things I think US sports have right - its part of the identity of the team, it shouldn't change every year, or even every few years.
I don't buy kits, to each their own but as a 40 year old man I feel like a tit.……..why? If you get people dressing up as stormtroopers & marvel characters and quite happy to do so because that’s there thing crack on, football shirts are basically t-shirts just more expensive ….unless you venture into the Asian market re cheap reproductions which I don’t blame anyone for doing so football merchandise especially shirts the mark up is ridiculous.life’s too short whether your 23,43 ,53 or 73 you want to wear a football shirt full your boots.

Or Adidas or Le Coq Sportif or Pony or UA....... in fact, anyone but Nike!
We're stuck with Nike until 2033.

Very smart top that!

...but looks like it would shrink like an '80s crisp packet in the oven at the mere suggestion of a warm wash!!!!!
I think you're right, I've only worn it twice when we were top of the league briefly under Postecoglou, it's only been washed once, with me remonstrating with the missus not to do anything but a cold wash and not to put it into the tumble drier. They're no longer in stock at Amazon, and I don't even see the navy blue one with the white badge at the club shop website.

I don't wear football shirts either, the only branded item I have is this jumper that I bought from Amazon about three years ago.

I have this - I went to a match but I needed another layer as I underestimated the wind & found this in the shop experience reduced for £18 thought why not.

Didn't realise it's double layered so well worth the £18
