Gonna be a long summer

) ENIC have provided £122.1 million in owner funding since their takeover in 2001, the equivalent of just £5.4 million per season. While the owners of #Tottenham’s rivals, Aston Villa, have poured over £600 million into the club since 2018. Enic did invest £35 million in the club in January, but Levy made it clear that Tottenham will not spend money they do not have with the club's net transfer debt standing at £279.3 million.Even with Champions League qualification and £200 million-worth of profit and sustainability rules headroom, that would put Spurs in the position of needing to sell to buy this summer without investment from Enic or elsewhere.

we get 20% if we dont buy him
sad on a budget GIF

He was good against us in the first leg but got bullied by Micky in the second. Seems like a moments player. Still young of course with a lot of potential but I wasn’t super impressed.
Reminds me of young Isak. I didn’t think Isak would make it either but Ekitike is long and pacy enough to be a similar threat in the Prem.

100m is insane but Chelsea pay whatever is asked, mostly.

So an extra £5m in the back hipper then. :levywhoa:

What’s the point in making these deals though if the other team can just go ahead and negotiate at a higher price with another team. First refusal should mean first refusal.

He’s the type of player we actually need in that area of the pitch, and for just over £20m , he’s shown enough this season for us to take the gamble,we should’ve had everything agreed with him long ago so the deal was done for the minute the clause kicked in and shit like this wouldn’t happen

Players of a similar level are gonna cost around double that, so well done

Everything just seems so reactionary under Lange, even more so than usual.

We fucked about and fucked about with Doue and Neto, and got gazumped, then ended up having to sign a far inferior player in Odobert.

We wanted Gallagher for over a year prior, knew Chelsea were desperate to sell him and couldn’t sweet talk him into signing.

Umpteen players in January told Lange no. Even Tel told him to piss off before Ange had to phone him and make the big pitch.

All the other big teams are signing players left, right and centre, and it feels like we’re standing here with our pants down with no idea who to sign or what to do next.

Its like if we don’t have a clear run at a player, and there’s competition for him, we think “fuck that”

Winning the Europa League was our one golden opportunity to get back to being a top-4 side instead of sinking to becoming an Everton/West Ham side every season and we’’re making an absolute chunt of things so far.

Unfortunately anyone expecting ENIC and Levy to “seize the moment” and behave any differently than before are deluded.

We always wait for bigger spending clubs to do their business first before we make our moves.

Yeah you’re right. I just hoped that seeing us finished one place above relegation would’ve given the bald fucker the fright that he needed to realise this squad needs big investment.

Should’ve fucking known better.

If the player doesn’t want to come then those clauses mean fuck all. You can’t be made to sign a contract you don’t want to sign.
We get 6m from this deal. Crazy I know but it was part of the Lo Celso deal. They couldn't afford the asking price so said we could have first refusal on Cardoso for 25m euros and if he was sold to someone else we would get 6m euros of the transfer fee.
