Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I love Ben Davies but that's an insane lack of an ambition renewing his contract! Does that mean we aren't going to sign a new left back? All we need is 2 or 3 injuries at the back and we are back to relying on Ben Davies to start a run of game. You can't expect to be challenging if that's the case.

Hopefully it's more of a leader role and his minutes will be seriously reduced next season. I'd like to think we'll keep Romero and sign another left back but wouldn't be surprised if neither happens and we leave ourselves even shorter next season!

Yeah ... We ain't a serious club

It doesn’t mean he still won’t be sold.

It’s good to have him as a reserve option as we go through the summer. We need to see what happens with Romero, Dragusin and Vuskovic.

If we get to the end of the window and we don’t need Ben then we can sell him. It’s also important to keep some experience in the dressing room, especially when they are model pros like Ben.

I think this is a smart move from the club, I suspect Ben will be kept around to help the new manager bed into the club seeing as though he's one of the longest serving players.

Frank has spoken about the importance of Ben Mee at Brentford in helping the younger players and setting an example (despite not getting many minutes).

Classed as HG in the league? Takes pressure off us signing anther HG player

This post has to be a wind up?

If it is, then fair fucks, Ben Mee reference was chefs kiss

It's a 1 year contract ext ffs quit the years you cry babies
Yeah but between injuries and rotation, Davies will start over 10 games next season and probably feature in close to 20. That's not good enough if you have ambitions to challenge.

I'd have liked us to part ways and sign someone who can push Udogie or VDV on that left side. Maybe we will still sign that player and if we do then great, no issues. But we've seen this video before. Davies is our fall back option if we don't "find an opportunity" and we know what happens next.

Everyone jumping on the Wharton bandwagon but he’s become overrated. Everyone sucked into pundits showing a couple passes through the lines need to watch whole games, he’s really poor off the ball, one of the worst midfielders in the league off the ball actually. No mobility, awareness or change of pace when they turn it over. Players just jog past him. Palace play on the break mainly so covers it a bit but I wouldn’t want him in our midfield on our big pitch. I dont see him ever getting a big move personally.

Scott looks like he’s becoming a regular in the Bournemouth team now and he’s looking good the last part of the season. Good all round player. Could break out next year. I’d take Scott here definitely

He is not a left back any more, he is a LCB who is probably best in a 3-5-2 system. I would say that keeping him is quite a shrewd move as squad backup as he is a reliable professional and a leader. That said, I will be angry if we do not buy a better LCB as back up to VdV though.

Only reason I can think of for extending Ben’s contract is stability in the dressing room with the new manager coming in . An old respected guy in the dressing room to help with the transition, he can’t be getting it on playing merit anymore .

Been a loyal servant but it should be over , clearly it’s not

This fanbase memoans our lack of of experience yet moan when we try to keep the experienced heads around

Allow it.
