As I said though, were we truly interested in him.

You're also talking about a team that had just won the PL and FA Cup, a far different scenario to Brighton, Bournemouth etc.

Either way, I have no doubt that the majority of the time anyone managing a team like Fulham, Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford would jump at the leap to a team the size of ours. I'd question the majority that wouldn't, even with Levy in and around the place and the issues that come with him at the top.

Rodgers had also already had his big break with Liverpool. It's perfectly possible he knows he isn't up to the standard required to manage the expectations of a top 4 club, he has serious issues with maintaining standards everywhere he goes, had Liverpool a hairs breadth away from a title and then the wheels fell off, same at Leicester a few nearly there campaigns going for CL qualification and an FA cup and then the wheels fell off there too. I don't think Rodgers is particularly ambitious, if he was I don't think he would be back at Celtic now because it's by far the "safest" option, he could stay there ad infinitum picking up doubles/trebles til he retires as long as he doesn't fuck up too badly and let Rangers slip in for an SPL title. Realistically even with being responsible for 2/3rds of the campaign that sent Leicester down he could have leveraged the FA cup win with them into a challenging opportunity in England or even in Europe.

It's a strange conundrum isn't it.

If Ange had finished 10th but lost the Europa final, do we still think he'd be in the job?

It's a mad situation
EDIT: Never mind I just read it properly that it said "lost" the final, then no I don't think he would. Getting 4th and CL final only bought Poch 2 and a half months the following season, 10th and an EL final buys you fuck all.

It's strange how people who gave the previous manager license to lose every bastard week for 18 months with complete impunity... Are now on twitter writing this potential new manager off as a PE teacher and the like before he's had a chance to lose even one game.

United have offered him that and he's accepted their terms. But he might think it's a safer bet playing in the CL with us under a manager who's made him and be willing to earn less. I'd imagine spurs would offer around 150k a week.

I know it's unlikely. Money talks. But let's not forget Dragusin turned down more money at Bayern to join us. It can happen if a player is convinced by a project.

Maybe we can get Ange on the phone one. last. time?

Among all the dribbling idiots that were angry at Ange being sacked, one guy phones talksport on Friday and quite eloquently says
"You can only imagine all those angry at him being sacked spend their weekend walking around shopping centres and just see the score at the end of the game" .

I think that absolutely nails it. They CANNON be watching this utterly fucking horrendous football.
That’s bull shit how many of the 20000+ spurs fans in the san manes on 21st may or 220000 lining Tottenham high st on the 23rd wanted him sacked ? The game is about glory and those of us actually invested in the team finally got a taste after too long a gap - it’s the keyboard warriors spending all weekend wanking and spouting shit on the internet that wanted him sacked - wonder how long before the frank out shit starts

Tactical, flexible, pragmatic when he needs to be, progressive in general, caters to players abilities, likes aggressive football, shapes the team and tunes it to get the best out of it game to game.

He's a manager with a comprehensive tool set who sees the game holistically.

After a tactically clueless one-dimensional flat track bully, I can't fucking wait.
Changing you name to thinkfrank are we?
