Management Thomas Frank

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This won't fail over the release clause. They would have been aware of it throughout so, unless he plans on haggling it down, it'll happen.

Assuming the reports are correct obviously.

No manager is making up those extra 30 points with this squad. Whoever they are. Bring any manager in Eze and Mbuemo as a start. We need investment all over the park to get any higher than 6th and that’s not to say I think the squad is too bad, it’s just very shallow and I think in the CL we will get embarrassed.
3 key signings really do make us a good 11, especially if its under a proper football manager. LW,RW and a ball playing CDM. they are the weak links now, theres obviously a concern at LB with udogie too imo.

Gallagher a Chelsea captain was no more likely to come to us than Kane going to Chelsea, even if Chelsea would have sold him to us. Neto was injury prone and with our injury problems would have been a mistake. Eze did not impress me when he played for England last summer and could not force himself into the starting 11. He has improved since but still not an England starter.

Eze and Neto would be upgrades and certainly Neto given Ange’s system which he would be well suited to.

He may currently be looking at what Slot did and thinking it's money well spent this time.
He might also be doing the man maths about how much he can save in the transfer market with a coach who can actually improve talent rather than buy it at their peak and ruin the players.

Leopards don’t change their spots though Matt. Can’t trust the man. If we do pay it and bring in all the coaches he wants then I take it as a great sign. It will mean he’s not making the footballing decisions any more.

I think you'll see a massive upturn in consistent form in the likes of Bentancur,Sarr,Udogie whilst getting the absolute best from the likes of Maddison,Bergvall,Gray Solanke. This is an intelligent football coach coming in here. We massively underperformed last season domestically and I think he'll install some pride back into our league performances and get us puffing our chests back out when it comes to playing rival games like Woolwich,Chelsea and West Ham again instead of expecting the worst.

We actually drew against Rangers.
You didn't watch that. They were WAY better on the night

You could also say we drew at home to AFCB 2-2

and they ABSOLUTELY battered us.

Ditto FFC 0-0 at home

Anyone with any sense would deduce that we were being outplayed badly at WHL by midtable teams. Palace too, and they had a cup final to prepare for too.

So that 17th is not unrepresentative.

We actually beat Tamworth as well.
oh FFS.

sorry, you've lost. Is that really the best you can do?

Embarrassing

fucking exciting! finally!!!!!

which bit dont you understand?

- the last 26 matches we only got 19pts
- that's nailed on relegation form over a season
- only won 2 (TWO) home matches from Nov onwards
- relegated Saints (the worst team in PL since Derby in 2007)
- and the worst MUFC team since 1974 (before you were born it sounds like)
- 5 wins in total since Nov
- 3 of which were against relegated teams

This isn't mid table mediocrity - this is critical relegation fighting falling off a cliff.

Do some fucking Maths and work this lot out for yourself.

The thought of Ange managing us when we play some REALLY good European teams (ie not Rangers, who battered us, remember?) fills me with horror. His record last season against CL type teams was a shitshow

LFC:

3-6
1-0
0-5
0-4

AFC urgh
CFC urgh

NUFC urgh

City a 4-0 win

now, which of those is the outlier?

Scrappy 0-0 draw at Tamworth too
I've just volcanojeezed my pants

Even if we do that, it will be against good Premier League sides, not shite from the Europa league.
It's harder to win a domestic cup than the Europa league.
As proven by Us, Chelsea and West Ham all having a European trophy as our most recent wins.
It really isn't. Just take into account the number of games alone. Spurs had to play 15 games in the Europa League this season, and it could have been more if we hadn't done so well in the group stage.

Newcastle and Palace had to play just 6 to win the League Cup and FA Cup respectively, including fixtures against Stockport County, Wimbledon, Doncaster Rovers, Millwall, Fulham, and Brentford. Hardly sides to make you quake in your boots.

Once you get to the later rounds it can be tougher, as then you've got the likes of Man City, Woolwich, Liverpool etc. It's still just a one of game though (apart from the stupid League Cup semis) so anything can happen especially if you've got home advantage.

Whereas in the Europa the knockout stages are two legged so that evens things out somewhat. Plus there's all the traveling. The Europa League is much harder than either domestic cup, in my opinion. Even the Conference Cup is harder, once you take into account the amount of games and the long distances to get there.
