Francis actually did pretty well for 15 months or so. I think upto the 4-1 New years day win over Man U. After that it was shocking but somehow he limped on for 2 more years. Unfortunately because we'd lost quality like Klinsmann, Popescu, Barmby and replaced them with Armstrong and Fox it wasnt sustainable. He got more negative as time went on, last few months were appalling.

Wages 19th place in the league, finished 10th. He normalised doing really well at Brentford so it doesn't look impressive.

I think its a decent appointment. Could have arguably been better, could have been worse. I dont get he's not a big name or won trophies argument. We've tried it several times. To me this makes much more sense than someone like Mourinho who was way past his sell by date and combustable. Frank may be a Poch, Howe, Redknapp, he may be a Nuno, Francis, Curbishley. I just hope people give him a proper chance and dont think making up 30 pts in a season is going to be easy.

Bryan Mbeumo wasn't "great" when he came from Ligue 2 at the age of 18/19, no-one wanted Ivan Toney when he was at Peterborough, etc
He's coached and improved these players over years and years.
