I think this Summer Eze was always our prime target but good chance Frank might push for Mbeumo instead and then the club might rethink which one they want. I think there is a good chance we get one or the other. I think both would be excellent signings. I'm not sold on Semenyo at all so reallyh ope we don't end up with him instead.

Agreed re Semenyo, he is better at taking a man on than Johnson and is fairly productive from the right wing but IMO it's not a signing you will see any other top 6 club make, he's not really got that "wow" factor, he's not especially quick and his close control is just alright. Don't want to sign players just because they're "gettable" and we have a clear run at them.

Agreed. Eze/Mbeumo definitely add some X factor and could quickly become our star player if they level up.

Semenyo would start for us and probably be our best winger but he's not much an upgrade on what we already have and you could argue Johnson's goals nearly make him just as good over the course of a season. Dibling is just not ready and debatable if he'd even be ahead of Odobert or Moore in the pecking order. He'd be well behind Johnson, Kulusevski, Tel and Son to be starting regularly.

Dibling will not be this summer I definitely don't think. Even with Southampton down and being somewhat beholden to what the player wants they will still want a substantial fee and if we put that towards another teenager this window after what happened last summer I think the fanbase will throw an absolute shit fit.

I'm not sold on Semenyo at all so really hope we get one of Eze/Mbeumo instead! I'll cry if we end up signing Dibling instead of them all. Would be typical!

I like all four of them as players. Probably Eze, Mbeumo, Semenyo, Dibling in that order.

Sounds like Mbeumo is off to United whatever, so it’s moot. Eze is non-negotiable for me. He would give the club and the players a lift and be a figurehead star.

This early deadline might scupper United a bit. They surely can't move on Mbeumo and Gyokores without selling first. So If united don't get Mbeumo over the line before this new deadline, then that could open the door especially with Frank now official. I get the impression that the club have lots of groundwork done on Eze and he's been the plan all along so Frank would have a big job to convince them to move for Mbeumo instead.

I don't mind which one we get as long as we get one of them. Anyone else would be very underwhelming for me. Not sold on Semenyo under Frank. He's an out and out winger. He'd have been a better fit under Ange.

today's deadline doesn't really stop them or mean much, that's just a Levy thing. United could sign him tomorrow just fine

Even that's not true, you can sign someone any time, announce them anytime, the only thing you can't do is register them to play, which outside of those clubs playing the CWC, is a total non-issue as nobody is even in pre-season training.

This "deadline" has no impact on them in the slightest...

Yeah that's true to be fair, a lot of clubs announce signings in May/June before window opens, we announced Modric before the window opened IIRC (going back a bit I know).

Not sure Mbuemo is what we really need as such.

Too often people see what they want to see.

He ain't a patch on Son at his best, amd I'm not even convinced he is any better than what Moura was.

I would far prefer us to find the next rising star than go for someone who might start to get sussed out whilst accepting we need experience.
