Management Thomas Frank

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Although I saw him utterly butcher a cheese toasty once. So he can't do easy things well.

The weird thing is that the initial attacking philosophy wasn't a bust at all - it just had a few flaws which teams exploited once they became obvious. Most of those issues could have been ironed out by a tactically proficient manager, things such as:
  • Vary the pass out from the back - throw in a longer ball every now and again
  • Don't overload the attack once the opposition are in defensive position - they will simply double up on someone (usually Son) and dispossess for a fast break
  • Don't play Porro behind attacking players AND expect him to bomb forward, it'll leave huge gaps at right back. Ensure that defensive areas are covered if out of position.
  • Don't play the ball down the wing if the recieving player doesn't have space to run into. You'll just end up losing the ball for a throw in.
  • When moving the ball through midfield, the passing player should run towards the recieving player if they are under pressure in order to provide an immediate return ball which can be recycled to Spurs players free from the press.
None of these things are rocket science. Angeball was 80% of the way there towards being an effective system but he just didn't seem to know how to fix the issues.

The bolded bottom bit is what was so maddening. I'm no tactical savant (obvs) and I figured out what we were doing wrong at least a year ago. There's no way someone who has spent their entire career in football couldn't see it...which meant he simply did not care. It didnt fit his philosophy and his philosophy was more important than our results (until he realized winning the EL was the only chance he had at avoiding the sack - then self preservation became more important than his philosophy)

Now your reaching, you called it a Poor cup, If we had lost the final Ange would have been blamed, just like he was for the 22 defeats, he is the manager thats his responsibility, so being as we won then he deserves the credit for that, Then you go and post a picture of that Judas Cunt, any way this is the Frank Thread, I hate it when threads get derailed but I thought I would just give it one reply which I have done now, you have shown yourself up for being a Gooner Troll So Jog on!

its a lot more compensation money to pay Brentford along side the 10 mill for frank, and the 6 mill they've just had to pay Ange.

Suppose it was nice change for Levy that Ange didnt bring anyone with him so much less comp. :levywhoa:
We normally just keep paying a sacked manager and then negotiate when he gets another job. He only had one year left plus a one year option on our side , plus his bonus for winning the Europa.

Frank is done, its just Levy haggling about Frank's staff.

Because the tight fisted twat doesn't realise that a manager is only as good as the team around him.

If he's your no1 choice just get it done and bring his staff with him. Pay Brentford the fucking money.....simples

True, and he was fortunate that we didn't play any really good teams in the EL. We squeaked home against two so-so opponents in EF and Man U.

17th is the lowest league position of any winner over the last 10 years of any English cup, the CL, or the EL. And I think that says more about Ange's stubborness in the league than anything else.

I was thinking earlier, what are the chances its done already but theyre doing all the socials stuff now to release with it

Cant have anything happen these days without the curated statement from the new joiner, pic of them in the shirt, video blog of the day, behind the scenes video of when they tour the training ground/stadium...

Also, it looks like they want all their ducks in a row before announcing. Maybe we'll get to know the full extent of the Viking Raid, not just the name of the Chief, but all his warriors too?

You still haven't given me 1, let alone 2 teams from last seasons Europa League that would be top half PL teams.
It was a poor competition won by the 17th team in the PL against the 16th team in the PL.
We were favourites from day one because our squad is miles ahead of almost every single team in it and probably ahead of United too.
It was and remans to be, a poor competition.

I actually saw the video of Ramsey butchering that cheese toasty on this guys channel.
