Did any of those who keep saying this wasn't a poor competition give West Ham credit and take them serious when they won the Conference League?
Or are you just massive fucking hypocrites?

Cause one things for sure, the Europa League is a damn sight closer to the Conference league in quality than the Champions League.

I'm absolutely delighted to have won the Europa League

But you could see between EL and PL matches the level of the competition - E.g. playing Frankfurt and Wolves in back to back games.......Wolves were far stronger and battling relegation most of the season

I'm not saying we shouldn't be happy and shouldn't celebrate. 17 years I'd celebrate almost anything. I went to the Brighton game because I wanted to see them with the cup etc and couldn't get there on the Friday.
I sat through loss 22 and one of the worst performances I've seen in a while.

But, all that said, we shouldn't convince ourselves that winning the weakest competition we were in, by some distance, is an indication we can win better competitions going forward. Especially with the prior coach who really couldn't win games against good/medium level sides.

Yea, the Brighton game was such a mys(t)ery for me.

I mean we got that cup. We had that parade.
What a chance to ride on that on that kind of feeling.

But no. Had to shit the pants again. I am pretty sure that this came as very sobering reminder to very many...

Wouldn't it be accurate to say that Europa this year was Championship level opposition at best? (Nearly including the finalists :roflmao: !)

The job was done, we won the cup. There was no one better than us in the tournament... but that statement is also not a credit to the comp

To be clear, United and Eintracht Frankfurt would canter to the title in the Championship, AZ would be strong favorites for promotion, and Bodo/Glimt would easily survive and who could doubt their ability to make a promotion push themselves.

Europa League haters are a bummer to me, but they have to be factually accurate at a minimum.

Frankfurt and United - true.
AZ promotion ? Not in top 6 there.
Over the amount of games Bodo would drop out in 9 times out of 10. You do not seem to understand differences of playing cup football for few games a season and exhausting and super competitive stuff in Champo.

I think it's more the case that PL (beyond a few teams in the CL) is just so much stronger than the rest of World football.

I read that Frankfurt's annual wage bill is less than Leeds was last season.

tell me you don;t know anything about football without telling me you don;t know anything about football

Woohooo!! Youve watched them twice!!
Ironically he missed out that we were horrendous in 22 defeats and, lets be honest, a lot of the wins too.

drives me nuts when our corners or free kicks end up in Vicarios hands
Or the back of our net.

I don't know why it can't be both a good win and a poor competition.
Facts is facts. Can't change them to suit a narrative.
