If one looks hard enough you can find a way to belittle most achievements if that is one’s mindset . Pretty miserable existence looking for a reason not to celebrate .
Not really. How and why can someone belittle winning it on highest level?
But EL so clearly is not. I mean literally ALL the best teams from ALL the best leagues do not participate.

I can only liken it to someone who wins 200 million on the lottery and says, I am still going into my job and staying in my house, I will continue to drive my 18 year old Vauxhall car as well . Why did you do the fucking lottery in the first place .

Nobody does the lottery expecting to win , but I would expect people to enjoy the win

Well in matter of fact in between the extremes of either keeping the 18 yo Opel or buying 10 Ferraris I would actually pick first, invest money and live very well for the interest that the original sum generates.

But looking those two statements combined, I cannot conclude anything else but the fact that dumber you are the happier and more carefree you can be. And by the looks of it, you are set for happy-happy life.

That has to be one of the most asinine responses I've seen in a very long time.

Frank’s staff? What was he before a cardinal or a shepherd?

You must be in the minority , not meaning that as offensive at all, but you only had to see the fans at the trophy parade to see what this meant to people, for me it wasn't even about qualifying for the Champions league, it was finally seeing our club captain lift a European Trophy, this was for all the times we have come close but couldn't get over the line, I think as well being as the season was so shit this was literally for the club a lifeline, a chance to save the season, I also don't get all the "Trophy Snobbiness" so to speak, you can only win what competitions you are in and you can only beat the teams you play, Granted its not the Champions league but its still a prestigious cup.

This is what football is all about, I have done a lot of drugs in my life , but when the final whistle went against united that feeling was better then any of them, its sad that other fans didn't experience such Joy as moments like this in football are few and far between for Spurs,

Totally agree.

And there is no inconsistency in thinking:

- that EL was massive for us, and is a great trophy to win
- Ange was not at the right level for us
- Overall Frank will be better for us

FWIW I actually think Frank is more likely to win a trophy over the next couple of seasons with us than Ange would be, but I expect I'll have the record thrown at me by the Ange-in guys in response to that. Teams that do well in the league win far more knockout cups than do teams that do poorly in the league. A fact in every football league I'm aware of

Can't blame you. Your support only started at Redknapp era. Those who started way before wouldn't be taking winning a cup that much of a granted (not saying you are, but every finals we been at, you know, any win will do) if you have seen through the 90s.
I’m trying to think if I’ve seen a final we won convincingly? Maybe ‘91 - I think that makes a big difference to me - what level is the performance. Yes - only best teams in front of you etc, but I feel a bit guilty that we never really look like we deserve to win trophies. We would have done in the Poch era but, let’s be honest, we did get away with one.

I'm absolutely delighted to have won the Europa League

But you could see between EL and PL matches the level of the competition - E.g. playing Frankfurt and Wolves in back to back games.......Wolves were far stronger and battling relegation most of the season
That’s why the premier league is the best league in the world. Any team can beat any other. It’s so competitive. Italian league isn’t too top heavy either. The spanish league is so predictable. And the bottom 8 or so teams are always way off the pace

Why is the BBC calling him 'chef'? Was he in the past??
Watch the interview where Linekar cooks him dinner. He describes being a football manager like being a chef in a top restaurant. Basically the chef has the artistic nous and skill to come up with the recipe for a successful dish, he then sends people out to find the best ingredients they can and then he gets his sous-chefs to expertly prepare those ingredients to make the final dish.

Also find it hard to take prolific scorers in Spain too seriously when they haven't done it elsewhere.
Head 2 Head coming before goal difference changes the dynamic a lot IMO. If you're in the bottom half, it doesn't matter if Barcelona beat you 1-0 or 10-0
