Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The new AC Milan management sure seems like they're totally dismantling the club, what the hell is going on there?

On the flipside, Atletico Madrid are so smart, I am always impressed with and jealous of them. That's what we could be if we got our shit together.
I listened to a podcast on the old Atleti owner Jesús Gil over the weekend (his son is currently the club CEO). And that man was the definition of a slimy, corrupt football big wig. And may have been one of the first sportswashers.

He only got involved with Atleti because he managed to accidentally kill 58 people (and injure about a 100 more) with a hastily built restaurant extension at his holiday resort.

Like, his wiki is an absolutely wild read.

Liverpool spending more on 1 player than Spurs most probably will spend on all it's new players...

I bet we'll get to 150M Euro before the summer's through, we have for each of the last three.

Danso and Vuskovic already has us at 36M

This has been done to death but if you want to include Danso and Vuskovic in this summers spend then you need to include all the amortized payments from players we’ve signed and are still paying for.

Or…

You just keep it simple and count the full amount in the window when the deal was first agreed.

Anyway, Liverpool dropping 150m on one player is nuts but it’s like when they went hard for Van Dijk and Allison. They are also manipulating the market and making all other buys inflated for the rest of the summer.

Probably our biggest club legend of the modern era. Others left because they wanted to win trophies, but he stayed because he wanted to win trophies at Spurs. Now it's the best time for him to leave on the biggest high. He's on a steep decline (he knows it), and he would leave with the last match of him being a European Cup Final which we won. It would be also good for us if we get a fee for him. HOWEVER, he deserves the chance to make up his own decision. If he wants to stay, we can't say no to him.

Meh, Wikipedia and Transfermarkt count loan-plus-obligation deals as shifting the fee to the window in which the obligation activates, and for the purposes of clean and simple accounting, I feel like that's a sensible enough way to do it.

Ideally we'd have really detailed and consistent numbers showing wages plus amortized fees, but sadly we do not.

It's definitely taking a risk. But it's the sort of risk they've been willing to take before as you note, and the results speak for themselves, that's an operation that has earned some benefit of the doubt, and Wirtz certainly profiles as the kind of player worth that money.

Pretty sure Paratici will push on for Vlahovic as a replacement for Richarlison by the way. Juve will let him go on a cheap, and he can pull some tactics to convince him. I wouldn't like it (he's extremely limited as a striker), but I can see it happening.

It's a real statement of intent. Similar wealth to us. Less PSR wriggle room, but the kind of signing ENIC would never, ever sanction.

Can't throw in the oil / nation state excuse bollocks either.

As old Airfixx Airfixx would say....a signing that shows ReAl aMbIsHuN
