Player Archie Gray

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think Gray will benefit massively from much more attentive coaching. The caveat being I have no idea what I’m talking about .
Yeh but you admit unlike Richard Arlison Richard Arlison and other clueless dipshits who predict everybody we sign will be a superstar without having the first fucking clue what they’re on about.

It’s a myth that Bale was poor when he initially joined Spurs. He was actually class in his first half season, that was before injuries and a huge dip in confidence occurred prior to Redknapp taking over.

Gray is a million miles off the talent that Bale was. Frank may rate him but the idea that he will just wave a magic wand and turn him into a serviceable PL 6 is laughable.
Bergvall looked way off the pace in the first few months with us. Massive improvement since. Rodri I think had one start for Villareal age 18.

So obviously players improve a lot at this age. We'll see, but he's ahead of the vast majority of his peers.

watched him last night, yes he is 18yrs but was in U21's so they are all learning, But his decision making is poor for a expected top class player,
hope the new coaches can coach

Can anybody name a no6 at the top of the game that was as good as gray at 19 or even playing at this level at 19?

Where were Rodri, makalele , viera, busquets, fabinho etc al at that age? That's right, nobody had ever heard of them at that age.

Things can change fast when they are that age, he's got the ability he just needs time rather than slaughtering.

Need to see what he can do when settled into one position over the course of a season and given back his confidence. It was actually complete fucking bullshit that Ange leaned that heavily on an 18 year old to solve whatever injury crisis was going on that week, I think I remember him commenting how good it would be for his development to be getting so much PL football at such a young age but I think it's been completely the opposite, he was shoehorned into unfamiliar positions for our worst periods of form and got a grand total of 7 minutes playing time all the way from the QF to the final of the Europa league, so wasn't even a part of the team's only real success last season. He has been horribly mismanaged and needs a fresh start off supporters IMO.

Agreed, but does it help when people are hyping him as generational talent in a position he’s yet to play in at PL level? That’s way OTT.
I think that sort of nonsense does more harm than good.

Whoa reading the posts - it's silly to compare Gray to Bale...just silly...

Many players who have joined Spurs didn't have a great first season I don't need to point them out as anyone over 15 knows them.

I've always said if you're old enough to wear the shirt, your old enough to perform therefore old enough to take criticism. Gray is probably being paid more in a week than most are in a year at his age.

As I've said before I stopped commenting on players performances because it could be down to soo many factors so for me it's now next season, last season is wiped & everyone is back to 0 from my view.
