Two pieces of news…..Spurs have bid £70million for Mbeumo. Levy has been sectioned.

Just to get this off my chest for the record.
Mbeumo seems overvalued to me off the back of a "lucky" goalscoring streak not supported by the underlying xG, a big part of the appeal of Frank is that he can work with different players and attributes and thus doesn't need the hyper-specific focus on players who "fit", and at the prices being quoted I would much, much rather have Eze.
We need a new winger i reckon minteh would be a cheaper buy and more upside but I like mbeumo we need to act big thia windowJust to get this off my chest for the record.

I’m 25, I fully remember what united used to be like. Those green and red Nike T90s Rooney wore back then are permanently etched in my mind. I was 13/14 when they genuinely began to decline, and I genuinely got into the club at about 8, or at least my first membership pack was 08/09. I’d argue it’s the American fans who got into football circa 2017, 2018, 2019 that this applies to.It may seem that way to us, having grown up pretty much only knowing Man Utd league dominance through to our mid-late 20s, but there are 12 year olds now who haven't seen Man Utd win the league, and 21 year olds like Tel and Odobert, who have been born since Woolwich last won anything that wasn't the FA Cup.
I kind of feel like it's the same as when a generation or two older would talk about Everton being a massive club - time moves on and it's not that people forget, it's more than someone age 25 or so wasn't going through their teens with the Ferguson united, but rather the Moyes shitshow, or the Van Gaal shitshow, or the Mourinho shitshow, or the Solkjaer shitshown.
All they will have seen and remember is a Man Utd shitshown.
Perhaps not, and I obviously want him backed and with input on the players being brought in.
80 on Wharton or 50 on hjalmund
Ugh... if only we hadn't blown that cash on Richy and (to a lesser degree) Solanke.. what could we do with that kind of moneyI can believe that £70m bid for Mbeumo tbh, if you spend £60m on Richy and £65m on Solanke, then £70m isn’t some massive stretch.
Whats unbelievable is Levy going straight to 70m.I can believe that £70m bid for Mbeumo tbh, if you spend £60m on Richy and £65m on Solanke, then £70m isn’t some massive stretch.
Considering it's Frank's number 1 target I'm actually glad we are doing it and not faffing about with a 40 mill bid
Exactly mate, that's what I mean about them playing a different game to us. It's only 35m of a transfer fee but the difference in the whole deal is way beyond usThey also pay them double the wages that spurs pay their players

It’s absolutely a weakness: Johnson is ideally a supersub, Son is on his last legs, jury’s still out on Odobert and Tel and imo Kulu is simply too slow to ever be an elite winger and that’s why he’s probs best at that number 10 spot. This seems like your typical journo story where anyone can put 2+2 together.
Mbeumo is a cracking player, but spunking 70 mill of our budget on him doesn't make a lot of sense. Our wide attacking players are not a squad weakness.
Need Eze or another creative profile.
But if Frank really does want Mbeumo here, i'm all for supporting the new boss
That's why I can't see us signing eze i think Frank sees kulu as backup to maddison for the 10. I reckon and hope it's mbeumo and I'm guessing we go for tel since levy wants it badly. Bit if that also makes us get a banging 6 like hjalmund I would accept thatIt’s absolutely a weakness: Johnson is ideally a supersub, Son is on his last legs, jury’s still out on Odobert and Tel and imo Kulu is simply too slow to ever be an elite winger and that’s why he’s probs best at that number 10 spot.
