Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Why do you fail to understand that playing 60 games in a season versus 40 odd has significant consequences for players, form, injuries, productivity and the rest.

Most of your posts do not recognise any understanding of that basic point.

Let alone your ill informed idea that Son is only worth 8m
We are playing 60 next season too. He’s not just tired of that’s what you are suggesting, he was weak and ineffective throughout. I would let him depart on a free and use the 10M saving on wages to invest elsewhere. He’s been brilliant and loyal, allowing him to go on a free is the right thing to do.

Really pleased if true.
Me too. I really like this kid. He showed enormous character when he went to appease the fans that were furious after another loss (can't remember the game), when the rest of the team couldn't get down the tunnel fast enough. Talented with bags of character and showing that he cares. EXACTLY the type of player that we should want at the club.
It does mean however that we will need 1 top attacker from elsewhere.
Agreed. It will be interesting to see who the club have identified, if it's not one of either Eze (my personal favourite) or Mbeumo.
Not enough established talent ready for the champions league.
Established no, but we do have a lot of talent. I'm quite excited to see what Frank can do with players like Bergvall, Sarr, Gray, Moore et al, particularly now that they have been through the fire in the league and tasted.glory in the EL.

I do think these kids will take to Frank like a duck to water. Couple that with his tactical acumen and it does make the mouth water somewhat.

Bit of a cunt but knows the club and PL by heart, has won plenty, got bags of experience...and Milan is a right mess so maybe coming home would appeal.

Well what can I say, I'm optimistic!

I think son will go after the tour this summer and we will get somebody. We simply need to as we have a ton of young talent but you can't expect miracles from the off.

If we got tel and mbeumo or eze for the attack id settle for that.
We need a striker

Mbuemo may be an awesome signing if we could get him. Having Frank with us now should keep Mbuemo's level up and yield the very best from him. That is a factor that would help him transition to a new club that nobody else can offer.

Tel I know we didn't see the best of him yet, as mentioned above he has character, to face up the fans after turgid performances when you are on loan and the others are slinking away is not for everyone. It's intriguing as again with Frank we may have more hands on coaching similar to Poch. I think Tel and Odobert have good linkups and chemistry when they play for France under 21, so I'd like to see more from both of them in our shirt once Frank has coached them a bit.

Anyone saying “good price” seems to ignoring the 10m loan fee on top. Thats €45m / £38m.

Surely to god we could spend 40m better than this (non HG) kid, who doesn’t really tick any specific box positionally.

plus 5m add ons.

Only a 'good price' if Frank and the new coaching staff can improve him, particularly goals and assists if long term plan is as a Son replacement

I think he'll occupy a LW/inside left type position, at least initially. Not convinced by those who think he's a back up striker - just don't see that.

I think we are paying a lot for potential, and would have liked to see someone more developed for that money. given that Tel is now 20 and a half. Maybe my youth bias but I think Moore who become 18 in August is ahead on all measures other than physical development (which should occur naturally over next 12-18 months). Just hope Tel is not allowed to take valuable development playing time from Moore.

Would be very surprised if any spurs fan wasn’t touching themselves when the announcement of Ndombele transfer happened. He was an exceptional player with his ball control and work in tight spaces - as close to a Dembele replacement as was possible. His fitness and attitude issues and consequent fall from grace was his own fault.
Again...
