Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My guess is that Romero will stay. He's hot blooded, an emotional player who may have a sharp disagreement with Ange's sacking in the short term but tempers cool.

The part that doesn't make sense to me is why Romero would be so attached to Ange given the mostly poor results the last 3/4 of Ange's run and Romero's being upset at the mismanagement of his injuries. We heard before winter ended that Romero wanted out. If it suddenly changed with the Europa final then suddenly changed again with the sacking, then perhaps his aspirations are still fairly pliable.
I hope he goes. Sick of seeing that mug earn big money for playing 20 games a season for us.

He’s just trying to orchestrate an exit. The club will argue they brought Danso in but the manager is bound to want another centre back or even two given that he sometimes likes to play three at the back.

It’s in defence actually where it is possible to witness where the manager will be stitched up this window.
If/when Romero goes, it's obvious Frank will be told he's got more than enough in Danso, Micky, Drag, Ben, Archie, Vusko, Ash and Dorrington...even if a couple go out on loan.

We'll be able to add £10 to our transfer budget once we sue these lads for royalties.

Here is what seem to be their actual badges (yes, it looks as if they have 2 different badges when looking at their Facebook page)

By the looks of it, we'll likely have to move on Son to be able to field another attacker, and thats assuming Kulu will actually end up as our backup CAM. Eze would be awesome but he sort of unfortunately plays into the current logjam at LW. There is really no way we buy another striker either unless Richarlison gets sold or loaned away first. Same situation at CM though we have a lot of incentive to sell at least 1 of Bentancur or Bissouma rather than offer them another contract- and it seems Bissouma is much more likely to leave.

I'm sure Frank will take a big look at the situation before figuring out what to do next, but, based on crowded roster, it seems like our options for really changing the squad are actually quite limited.

Bentancur Bissouma Son Richarlison all sold
Dragusin injured and not registered.

5 of the 17 opened up.

You can often tell by the first moves in the summer what sort of window it might be like last summer getting Werner back on loan early doors. A 1 year extension for Ben Davies, Tel permanent and Manor Solomon being given a chance is not very encouraging. Might be that Davies and Solomon still end up leaving but as of now the squad is absolutely stacked. Not sure we do a lot without moving several players on.
This was my reaction to the early moves.

These low risk/low reward transactions which maintain the status quo don't seem to be what you'd do if wholesale changes to the squad were imminent.

A nice midfield trio and it’s something I hope we see more of (3 players who compliment each other whilst also having unique skills sets). The issue however, is by playing 3 of them then it will mean leaving out (post injury) Maddison or Kulusevski, unless we changed the formation. Playing say Maddison on the left is a hard no for me as we would be lopsided and reliant on Udogie (hit and miss) for our left flank width.
When on form and experience our midfield 3 over past two years was bent, Biss and MADDs. Good combination of talent set. Unfortunately they were hardly ever fit at the same time and the inverted BS meant it was just too crowded in there but we need a similar midfield 3 I think if playing 433.

23 years old, a bit long in the tooth for us.

23 is a good age to sign a player for the PL tbf.

Played 35 La Liga games last year and about 3k minutes over the last 2 years so he’s an experienced player in the top leagues

Zero experience in Europe though.

Transfer markt have him at €8m so probably 20-25 gets it done. Bargain potential but not the veteran CL savvy DM everyone was hoping we’d sign. Could end up loads better though

Sarr has lot more qualities which our previous coaching set up didn’t take advantage of.

His whipped crosses are top class - he should be used more & more of a 8 that gets into half spaces and whip the cross like Eriksen or KDB used to.

To maximize Sarr we need a better no6 .

Midfield of Bergvall DouglasLuiz, Sarr would have the legs , bite and the class .
Dropping Maddison / Kulusevski then? Don’t think Sarr is better than Maddison as a playmaker.
