Missing out on Mbuemo.

Why is anyone surprised?

Levy never closes the deal on deals that matter.
We were never going to sign him and make him our highest paid player tbf.

All report today suggest United are offering him 250k a week and we were never going to break our wage structure for him. He's a good player but he's not Mbappe or Yamal! 70m and 250k a week is extreme. Worth remembering that he's currently on 45k a week at Brentford! United have just offered him a bizzare 500% increase in wages to get him agree to come. All the other clubs involved would have tried to get him for 120k which was still a substantial rise. I'd imagine Spurs would go as far as 170k a week but United just went extreme so have a clear run at him now.

United have done the same thing to convince players like Sancho, Casimero and De Ligt to come to them. Pay way more than everyone else! Then they end up in that stupid scenario where they can't sell anyone because no other club will match their current wages. Going of recent history, it would not surprise me if Cunha and Mbeumo end up like Sancho and Rashford on big wages but not pulling their weight. Manchester United is the graveyard for ambition.

Please tell me this isn’t true.

Tottenham join the race for Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford

I’m having an operation tomorrow, maybe I shouldn’t wake up from the general anaesthetic
Of course it is not true. Firstly, Rashford is on ridiculous money (£325k per week) and his contract still has 3 years to run! Secondly, we just signed Mathys Tel who plays in that position, in addition to Son, Odobert and Moore who are queueing up to get minutes at LWF.

I think the only time we've done this is when we bought Ndombele, bet Daniel Levy still has nightmares about this. :D

Good luck with the op.

Rashford would be a good signing. Far prefer him over Mbuemo if we had a choice.

Rashford is quality, if he can be motivated to play.

You are fucking priceless..... :dawsonlol:

You make post after post (after post) about mentality, commitment etc. like some ropey self-help guru meets pound-shop Yoda....... and now you're posting in favour of us signing Marcus fookin' Rashford!

🙃

This is basically what United do. Every year.
They get their dick out and wave it around. They "blow people out of the water" by paying huge fees and wages.

And that's why they are lumped with donkies like Temu Haaland and Dirty Sancho. Paid a fortune and can't do anything with them.
There are times where I feel we should use their interest in players to ID who we should avoid.

I know, I've gotten to that point too, if the paper gossip is "United and Spurs in for Player X" I feel like we should run away as fast as we can.

It's unbelievable how bad their scouting and recruitment strategy has been. Sancho, Antony and Hojlund as their big market alpha dog purchase in three straight summers, astonishing. And it was obvious even at the time with the latter two that they were wildly overvaluing the player.

I think they want to remain relevant and use their "might" to beat rivals to players signatures.
The problem is, they end up skewing the market as badly as Chelsea all those years ago.
Thanks to the Pogba's, Sancho's etc £70m+ is now the norm and that's mostly Man United's fault IMO.

Hopefully they go belly up and out of business. I can't fucking stand them, their presence in the media, their plastic fanbase etc.

Yep, as I did when he was up for a loan in January.

Sometimes players need the right environment and the tight challenge.

I think for the tight level of wages (not 350k),

Less price.Rashford would be a good acquisition.

I absolutely accept the concerns, but on that basis we would never sell any of our players.

I'm not even going to charge you for my response - an honourable Yoda.

Less price.

The last time we "beat Man U to signing" a fan-heralded "must-have" player.........?

Reguilon. :ange-hands-head:

Maybe - if these reports are indeed true (which they rarely are) - it's between Akliouche and Mbuema...

Unless he signs for Manure, in which case it's Embuolism.
