Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You'll soon find out he was.

Well he fucking better for that money. But allow me to doubt it considering what he's shown so far in his career.

We obviously don't have the same definition of fantastic, elite or very good.

He's still better than your boy right now. It ain't even close.

Sesko will cost 70m. He’s not worth close to that. Tel will score more goals than Sesko this season if he comes to the PL

"Sorry guys, money is tight. But here's Werner on loan" coming from a club with revenues well exceeding £500m in a Champions Leagueless season and increasing year on year.

Levy really has brainwashed this fan base hasn't he.

Are you on his payroll? Or you're in love with him?

Like I said, hope he does, course I do...but he showed nothing even remotely special last season.

So excuse me if as of right now I still trust Bayern's judgment over yours.

Bayern weren’t selling until the player asked to leave because he was stuck behind Kane. They saw him as a CF. If you trust Bayern’s judgment then he’s the rotational striker for Solanke

I'm actually starting to think the main reason Ange was sacked was because he continuously publicly stated that the transfer strategy was a mistake and that experience was what we needed moving forward.

Think if he just agreed with going with the same strategy he would still be here.
It was 22 defeat and an increasing inability to win outside of a poor europa league.
That's the only reason

No, I’m saying that we just spent £30m on a player who will be competing with three other players for that position. So we will not be spending massive money on Rashford and also will not pay his wages.

Where do you think Tel will play? At RB?
Preferred we didn’t buy him at all and we used that money towards getting eze and or Brian m. Alternatively we should have asked for pualinha from BM as we needed a CDM far more than another unproven wide forward when we have so many on the books already.

may have a point but I think he did agree to keeping Tel from the off.

These are all the present A-squad players at Spurs right now (yes, some will be will be sold and some will loaned out):

GK: Brendan Austin, Guglielmo Vicario, Antonín Kinský,

LB: Destiny Udogie,
LC:
Ben Davies, Micky van de Ven,
RC: Cristian Romero, Radu Drăgușin, Kevin Denso, Ashley Phillips, Luka Vušković,
RB: Pedro Porro, Djed Spence,

DM: Archie Gray, Yves BIssouma,
CM: Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr, Lucas Bergvall, Alfie Devine,
OM: James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Jamie Donley,

LWF Heung-Min Son, Yang Min-Hyeok, Brennan Johnson, Mikey Moore, Wilson Odobert, Mathys Tel, Manor Solomon,
CF: Richarlison, Dominic Solanke, Dane Scarlett, Alejo Véliz
RWF: Bryan Gil,
Lankshear and dorrington?

Brentford: second lowest budget in the PL.

Tottenham: 9th richest club in the world.

Same shopping list.

I'm not even surprised after 25 years of getting bummed dry by that walking tumor, but still...makes me fucking sick.
Well there is factual evidence behind that they had Johnson lined up for £30/35M before we jumped in payed much more. Then same with gray although not sure on the fee Brentford had agreed.

Spurs haven't turned a profit in quite a few years (5 I think) and have had a number of assets (player) depreciate to zero value (Ndombelly, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Lamela, Moura).

Reluctance to increase the salary ceiling means the club is spending far too much money on average players (Tel, Johnson, Gray, Solanke, Odobert, Richarlison), in the hope that the young ones turn into something special and the older ones 'do a job'.

If the squad Spurs has were fit and healthy - they are 2 or 3 players away from a title challenge. But, if Spurs can't keep Romero, VDV, Maddison, Kulu, Son, Richy, Bentancur fit; they are nothing more than mid table plodders.

Shite. Went to Hoffenheim for only £7 mill in January. Remember all the wafflers in our fanbase who swore he’d replace Kane :levylol: He’s a tiny player who does nothing well other than shoot. Actually successful short strikers are so rare. What made Defoe so special was his ball striking was the best I’ve ever seen in person.
And his uncanny ability to hit it straight at the goalkeeper 8 times out of 10 :cautious:

Plenty of experience in the squad last year. A club like Spurs need to blend in youth, too, as they can't afford to buy a whole squad of "experienced" players - unless on buy sub-standard experienced players.
It was also the lack of EPL experience in the coaching staff that caused Spurs' poor league form...

Why do so many of our own fans paint us as some kind of impoverished, destitute football club that can't possibly hope to compete with our peers
