Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Your right. He Looks predominantly Left footed. 👍
He is left footed but plays either side. He was on loan at PSV for a season and i think played right side all season, seems to be more split at Everton. I think he's good with even more potential but we're looking at a big old fee. Wages would probably fit us. Would be a good signing but you'd imagine Romero would need to be sold unless we want a good 3 at the back option.

Correct. In no way will we act like a big club. Levy can spout his pish all he likes but it’s empty words.
Actions speak louder than words. I've heard it all before from Levy. For me, the Frank appointment shows where his mind still is. A safe bet who can compete with a lesser budget which makes me think our budget will still be well below the other big 6 clubs. Prove me wrong Levy. Lets see us outspend Woolwich, City and Liverpool? Won't happen.

Aaaaand we're off and running with an early entry for the annual 'Transfer Window Excuse' bingo card.

Fair play...It's a blimmin' cracker :harrylol:
Here he is. Mr Soundbite.

If the lizard really wants to win the league then he needs close that, 'players from mid table clubs' tab on his laptop and open up that elite tab. see how much its gonna cost in wages and ask himself does he really want to win the league
Very true. Thanks for the "then he needs close that, players from mid table clubs' tab on his laptop" visual...gave me a good lol moment. :dembelelol:

Fat chance baldy will do that though....

Liverpool just won the league buying players with wages of less than 150k a week. MacAllister, Nunez, Gravenberch, Gakpo - not one 'elite'

Woolwich bought players on 200k+ a week the last two seasons and won fek all.

Looking at the options linked for the number 6, position Hjulmand (despite the Woolwich tattoo) seems like the standout option if we’re going for someone that brings physicality. He looks like a tough tackler and a leader in the middle of the park but does give me Hojbjerg vibes a little bit on the ball.

If we were going the other way, Juventus want to sell Douglas Luiz for about £30m, and given the likely return of Paratici and his links there, I’d imagine he’d be pretty easily gettable, perhaps even on a loan with an option/obligation. Luiz is definitely far superior on the ball and would allow us to progress the ball forward better from deep, but he lacks the physicality of a Hjulmand and might leave us exposed.

What profile do we need more if we’re only buying one DM?

He doesn't . He just wants to hoodwink fans into thinking he does.
Oh I think he does. If we win the PL it essentially means the clubs value would surge a decent amount.... But is he hell bent on winning it that he's willing to financially put his balls on the line to try and get us seriously competing with the big boys?!?

Absolutely not. :frankstare:

He wants all the big rewards but without putting in the necessary risks to drastically increase your chances of getting there.

With those statements Levy has once again set himself up to look like a complete fool. The transfers of the last 5 years or so has got us close to relegation but now all of sudden he means serious business? Come on..
My assumption is that he's heard on the grapevine that certain players have not responded well to Ange's sacking eg Romero and Vicario. And this PR stunt was done to help sway the players into staying.

Tough one to profile and depends entirely on how frank see it.
I love the destroyer type and that would pair well with bergvall and bentancur. However somebody like sarr eould not be a good pairing as neither would be able to dictate play.

Luiz I love as a footballer, I prefer ederson more and neither are pure dm's imo and more sitting 8's or 8's but both would work beautifully in a double pivot with all our current cm's. But as you say we would then lack the big physical monster but having said that ederson is a physical ball winner.
